I want to thank everyone that helped me with advice going through the surgery. The surgery was done August 31. I had the aortic valve replaced and by pass surgery. I have had trouble with my leg where they harvested the vein. I had to finally get a wound vac. They took it off a few days ago. I still have a nurse that comes in everyday to check the leg. I am doing ok, just do not have energy. If I can help anyone let me know. Did anyone have any jaw discomfort after surgery? I know it is normal to have shortness of br eath for a while. How long does that last?

Hey there Marilyn! How are you? Sorry I had to get off the phone the other night but was out at a restaurant and dinner was being served. How's the leg? I hope your feeling better and are able to start walking around a little. It gets tough when you are chained to a chair all day. I really hope you are feeling better and recovering.

It takes time to get your energy back, so do not rush. I never had jaw pain, but I am told that some people develop pain in strange places after heart surgery. Give your body time to rest and heal and you will get better.

recovery never seems to happen as fast as we want it to:eek:
but hang in there, you will soon have many more better days. I don't know much about the leg business, hope that it will be improving quickly now. Can't say I remember jaw pain, lots of back and neck pain though.

Is it possible that you are clenching your teeth when you sleep? just a thought..

I was wondering about you earlier today. Glad to see you posting - you sound better already - without the impending surgery looming over you. Sorry you have had complications - I hope that is well resolved now.
I have quite a lot of jaw pain now - before the surgery. That was one of my first symptoms - before I realized it was one.
I hope that is worked out as well - let us know how it goes!!
Glad to see you back...;)
