Hi,My pt inr changing like this every 4 th month. I go to lab every month 9th date to test my inr.On july 9th inr was3.5 My doc advised me to use 3 mg Acitrom for entire july .On Aug 10 th i went for test inr was 3.1. I continued 3mg aug month . Again on 10th sep went for test inr was 2.8. Iam Continuing3mg Acitrom for entire sep month. Probably on Oct 9 th inr may be 2.2 & I may contintue 3mg .But by 9th nov inr will surely go down below 2 . My doc advise 4mg for nov month& By dec 9th my inr will be 3.5 and the same story repeaties. This is 3 rd cyclic 4th month after my surgery. Please suggest ACITROM -Blood thinner iam using , Dose.

I'm assuming that Acitrom is our Coumadin here in the US since it's being measured by INR.

Your INR may be lower in October, and it may not be. The INR is not a stable number, which is why there are prescribed ranges for INR. My range is 2.5 - 3.5. I do not do a dose adjustment for anything less than 4 or higher than 2.2.

I would not worry about October's dose until you get to October. If your INR continues to go down, then the dose will be adjust up, as is guessed. And since you are 4 months out from surgery and you are continuing to heal, your INR may continue to go down and your dose may need to go up as the months progress.

If you are concerned about it going too low - can you go in more than once a month to have your INR tested? Why don't you go in now and see what it is? And then let us know.

Karlynn's advice is good. Don't try to predict your INR because it will surprise you. As you recover, there will probably be some adjustments, but until you get the test results, you won't know what they are.

Your results are pretty darn stable. I wouldn't change anything at this point in time. It appears your manager knows what they're doing, which is exceptionally hard to find here in the U.S.

Thanks all , i will wait for oct test

If it does continue to drop, increase the dose by 10% for the week. If your taking 21mg a week, take it up to 23mg a week.
