Ad-Aware vs Adware ???

My daughter thought she was going to be downloading this good program, but she got an infected download. She downloaded Adware.

Is there an evil wannabe out there instead of Ad-Aware from Lavasoft?

Or is there an infection going around?

Produced a sort of Trojan Horse that sent out her email address linked to Viagra ads and other nasty stuff. Went to her son's teachers

If she did a google search and used the links they provide, she may well have gotten taken to a knockoff instead of the real deal. It's happening with alot of them.

I sent the Microsoft link to her. I also saw that on Microsoft while I was updating, but alas, I have Windows 98. I do believe she has a newer Windows.
