Hi Betty-

I have several articles on rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. I have been searching for a long time for articles which also mention rheumatic fever, pulmonary hypertension and atrial fibrillation.

I have found quite a few mentioning rheumatic fever induced mitral stenosis which can then cause pulmonary hypertension and atrial fibrillation, all of which Joe has.

Most doctors I have asked about pulmonary hypertension and whether it can be caused by RH, have told me no. But from these articles, the answer is clearly yes, although it is a progression thing, rather than a direct thing.
