On the first day of recovery my family said to me, you made it through surgery and we are as happy as can be.
On the fifth day recovery, my surgeon came to me and said, "you can go home now;" I was filled with glee.
On the second week of recovery, I walked around the block, taking it all in, admiring the beauty.
On the sixth week of recovery, I could sleep again on my side; I slept so soundly - and snored so peacefully.
On the ninth week of recovery, it hit me oh-so-hard, I had come so close to death, it made me so weepy.
On the twelveth week of recovery, an arrhytmia came to me, and once again I found myself on telemetry.
On the sixteenth week of recovery, I got back on the horse, went to work again, but felt quite pump-heady.
On the twentieth week of recovery, I got back in the groove, dealt with daily life, and felt some normalicy.
On the first year of recovery, I went to celebrate, grateful for my health; surgery just a memory.
Beyond recovery, I keep visiting this site, enjoying time with friends and singing karaoke.
(Loosely (very loosely!) based on the 12 Days of Christmas. . I am no poet, but the creative juices got going. . .just had to let them out! )
