I was told by many of you that it was possible - and I found out today that it is for real. My 8th month echo showed a completely normal heart. No longer enlarged, muscle function very good, ejection fraction back up to 65 (it had gotten down to 40 a year ago), and the new valve performing perfectly.

Not only that -- he yanked one of my bp medicines - Norvasc.

I attribute this good fortune to one thing - my walking. I think I've only missed maybe 3 days since April. 4 miles per day - klomp klomp klomp - one foot in front of the other. Do I sound like a proponent? :D

Wow, great news.

My cardio does not think the size of my heart will shrink that much as he thinks the stretch at 19 was a success and any shrinkage would have happened since then.

But hey, one can hope...and i need all the 'assistance' i can get to keep those boring walks going at the moment.....shrinking heart is good motivation.

Thanks for the post.

DB,

Great news. Congratulations! That has to be tremendously encouraging and a huge relief. Keep up the walking.

*chuckles*

Sounds like a song ... and, actually, it is! From the animated Christmas special, "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town". The song is used right after Kris "warms up" the Winter Warlock....he he he.

Seriously, DB, that is awesome news ... congrats :).

I posted previously, just give it time and it will happen.
Not only has the heart remodelled but you have been able to reduce the drug count this was what I measured success by. :)
