(Many will have already seen this on my Facebook page). This was close to a perfect day. There is a local winery down the road, and I had stopped in to replenish our meager supply earlier in the day. That afternoon, Barb and I were in the hot-tub, and I was reading my favorite kind of mystery-a book by an Anthropologist with a new theory for why the Anasazi abandoned the great stone buildings they had erected in Chaco Canyon. Soon a calm rain was coming down. Every so often a flower from the apricot tree would drift into the water. As the raindrops hit the water there would be a sort of "reverse drop" as the impact caused a small amount of water to splash up from the water's surface. Then there was an amazing rainbow that drifted parallel to the horizon across the face of the mountain. I had never seen one that seemed to move. After we got out I took this picture of what had become a double rainbow. You can see there were some raindrops on the lens cover, and I was pressed as close to the house as I could get. I am thinking it all adds to the picture. It was a great afternoon. The picture didn't look like I wanted when I tried to post it here, but I hope you get a chance to follow the link to the picture.
