I don't know if you all remember me. My daughter had a MV repair four months ago. Her name is Janine. I came here, and started researching and so did she. She found her doc. at NYU and had her repair June 7th . Her orginal cardio said she'd probably need a replacement in about 10 years - but she wasn't going to accept that being 33 years old. So thank God , after all the torture and worry, the operation went off without a hitch and she was back with her two precious babies and us.

She just went Thursday for an echo to a new cardio recommendded by her surgeon in NY. The words I wanted to hear came after her visit and phone call. No regurgitation and the job was done as good as one can hope for. No meds~ She never looked so good- feels so full of energy and basically feels wonderful. This mother can never be grateful enough to the Dr who had her heart in his capable and loving hands. He is a treasure. I know we were led to the right person and the right time. I am one who believe's there are no accidents in this life.. but God sure helps those who help themselves. Hadn't we asked questions and hadn't she taken control of her health and her body... who knows..

Just wanted to share my happiness. I drop in often and read and marvel .

God bless you all.

That is wonderful news, for everyone! I wish her years and years of good health and happiness.

I know how your feel. At our daughter's first post-op appointment with cardio, we received the same news -- no regurgitation and no meds needed. Yipeeeeeee. What wonderful news.

Heck don't just drop in, participate please and by all means! That is great news and I'm sure other new folks would love to hear about it as they start their journey on the path to their surgeries. ;)

I thank God the day I was led to this forum. If it were not for the information I read ~ I would have not known where to begin. It is here that I first heard mention of Dr. Colvin at NYU~which led us to Dr. Cuiffo, in his practice, who did the actual surgery, and Cleveland Clinic ~which was always an option for my daughter but just a bit too far away for her comfort. But the thing was finally WE HAD KNOWLEDGE. When I have knowledge I have power and that can be a dangerous thing sometimes!! But in this case it was literally a life saver.

I will keep coming here to share and to get some more of that knowledge.
If there is anyone out there who is floundering- this is the place to be. Search, read, investigate and most of all be open to taking charge of your own body.

This will truly be the best Thanskgiving for us ever.

Blessings to you all and stay well.

Bobbie
