Our granddaughter Haley has received the worst news of her young life.
Her best friend and confidant, Gracie, was diagnosed with inoperable cancer only yesterday and will be put to sleep today. Gracie is a pet pal, a dog who visits patients in our local hospital. Her gentle demeanor and her insatiable desire to be petted and loved have been a blessing to those seeking a respite from their ills. Many hearts are heavy today as we anticipate Gracie's passing, but none more so than one little six year old girl.
If you don't mind, please hold a good thought for her today.

I am sending up a prayer to doggie heaven for Gracie and keeping Haley in my thoughts and prayers today. I remember how devastated my granddaughters were when we had to put our dog Precious to sleep. We had her 14 years and the grandkids had grown up with her.

Mary:

I have asked my companion animal friends to help Gracie when she arrives at the Rainbow Bridge.

Mary:

I am so sorry to hear that Haley has lost a wonderful pal.

I know that Gracie was met by our Abyssinian cat, Beamer (a.k.a. Bryn Mawr), who passed away 2 weeks ago. Beamer never met a stranger, so I'm sure she was part of Gracie's welcome wagon.

Oh, Mary, I am so sorry to hear this news. Haley is such a sweet child and I know just how devastated she must be by this news. We will keep her in our prayers and thoughts.

Please tell Haley that Gracie will meet some of my best friends: Tippy, Penny, Puffy, Sammy. Spooky, Gizmo, Romeo, Juliette, Caroline, Boggs, Minnie and Fugi

She'll have lots of friends to play with.

Mary please give Haley a big hug for me. Tell her that Gracie will be meeting a lot my furry friends that have passed. So many that I can't remember the names of them all.
