I got this picture from our daughter Stephanie. Ellie is a good, but very active child. A morning planned with some physical activity is a good thing.

The morning started out with a little "surfing" in the ocean. Mostly Ellie rides the board on her tummy under Daddy's watchful eye. From there they went kite flying. This is Ellie running to get her kite in the air (which she was able to do). From there they went to breakfast, and guess who crashed immediately after finishing her oatmeal? Mommy and Daddy had a chance for a leisurely breakfast and an extra cup of coffee.

I love the energy of youth that seems to pour out of this picture.

Gosh, Dennis, she is growing before our eyes. Isn't the charm of simple fun wonderful to watch?

Gina-you are so right. She is growing up right before our eyes. Here is another (I believe) good parenting technique. I shopped really hard, and got a Nikon D40 which is a great camera available at a good price since Nikon came out with a new improved model. I also researched and purchased a good zoom lens and exterior flash.

When all that was done, I cheerfully sold it to Stephanie for 25% of the price I paid, but made her look me in the eye and agree to one additional stipulation-lots and lots of Ellie & Frisco pictures.

So far she has definitely kept her end of the bargain. I have probably seen about 10 good pictures of my childhood. That is not going to be repeated in the next generation.

Dennis, You have a real knack for capturing the simple joys of life. I am always grateful for the gifts you share with us. Thanks!

I know I should stop, but this seemed so cute to me. Ellie attends daycare, which she calls school and absolutely loves. Her little brother Frisco (six months old) usually stays home with Mom, but occasionally goes to daycare along with Ellie. Ellie has a lot of good friends at daycare, and enjoys showing of Frisco when he is there.

One of the workers heard, and passed on, the following conversation:

Ellie to Karina (one of her friends): Este es mi Francisco. You can touch him. He's my little brother.

At least it seems cute to me.

Bilingual to boot! That in itself is fantastic, let alone the cute/sweet content of what she said!
