I'd like to bring to the attention of the following members that they need to clean up PM's:

fdegranville
epstns
MelissaM
jenlynn72
chilihead

There are many who have just under 100 stored. It would be appreciated if everyone would please check all 3 folders for received, sent, and tracked PM's and delete whatever they do not want. We could reclaim alot of server space if we all keep a closer eye on it.

Thanks,
Ross

Why not go ahead and decipher the messages too?! :p :D

Really, Ross... I?m curious, can you and Hank read the messages that we send to each other through vr.com??

No we cannot read them, nor would we. We can only see who has what as far as numbers of each in the inbox and sent items folders.

If I've upset some of you by posting this, please be advised, I have tried in the past to privately ask and in some cases, the PM was never read. This is why I've resorted to this method. There are still numerous people with just under 100 saved in all folders. Please realize, if you need them that's fine, but if there of no value any longer, please clean them up.

Thanks again,
Ross

No problem, Rossman......

No problem, Rossman......

I'm like George... just curious, curious, curious. Gets me in trouble every time. :p

Mine all say zero, zero, zero. :D

Tks, Ross - I usually clean 'em out when I get a new one, but think I am remiss some of the time especially the tracking, but don't usually request a receipt when I (rarely) send one. Somebody needs to send Bonnie a pm.

That's fine Rain, I'm sure others wondered the same thing. Private Messages are just that, Private. We do not have the ability to read them unless they are sent to us by you.

I'm sorry folks, but I had to do something to get your attention. It doesn't take but a couple of seconds to fix unless you go through all of the 100s saved.

Hey Ross,
Thank you for taking care of the site, with all the new members coming on we will need all the space we can get.
I try and keep mine cleared out as I have learned from the last time. :p

Delete all those pictures posted in the past...

Delete all those pictures posted in the past...

Hey Ross,

Also feel free to delete any pictures I have posted in the past. I try to remember to delete them after they?ve been there a while, but I know I haven?t got them all. Feel free, they don?t need to be occupying space.

But Ross!!

But Ross!!

It says that 10,000 PMs are allowed to be stored!!! :D All I have is a measly 180!!

Computer stupid that I am, how do I delete the PMs without having to do it one-by-one??

Thanks.

Christina L.

I know it says 10,000, that's why I'm trying to get everyone to clean up. With the growing membership we have we're going to have to put a limit on them. 10,000 or infinity might have been fine 2 or 3 years ago, but it's not going to cut it now.

Rain I did go in and NOT delete pictures, but resized many and took the larger Bitmap images and converted them to Jpeg or JPG's. That saved about 10 megabytes right there. Our pictures aren't really a problem. It's just one of those things, called site growth, that has me thinking that we need to trim unnecessary stuff like 3 year old PM's and such. The only two I'm not jumping on are Hank and Al Lodwick for obvious reasons.

Christina to delete them all at once, go to your inbox and at the top left is a box above all the boxes on the right and click it. A check should appear in that box and all messages. Once you've done that, click on move to folder and choose delete. You have to do the samething for Sent Items and Message Tracking, though with tracking it's simply "end tracking".
Remove the checkmarks from any message you still need before deleting the whole batch. It's pretty much just like Hotmail or Yahoo mail.

If anyone has a problem deleting them and would like me to do it for them, just let me know. It's better that you learn to do this yourselves, but if you simply cannot figure it out, I'll do it for you with your permission.

A quick note to everyone:

The new limit of 300 between all 3 folders is now in place. If you should go over that, the server will tell you that your box is full and you will not be able to send or receive any more until some are deleted.

It's hard for me

Hi Ross, since I can't see very well, I find it a bit hard to follow long instructions so, I would appreciate it if you could delete all my PM messages for me. You do have my permission to do so. Thanks again,
Débora

Tis done. Thank you!

Good morning Ross. I deleted everything I could although it still says I have four stored but I couldn't find them. You can go ahead and delete them if you want. Thanks. :)

They were in your sent items folder. They are gone now.

Thank you!
