Nan

Hi All,

I spent last night in our local ER in A-fib which finally converted with IV Cardizem and I didn't have to be admitted :) .

I have had a fever (flu? low grade, even though I had the shot?) for the last two days and wonder if that could have been the reason old A-Fib reared it's ugly head.

Was wondering if anyone else has had an illness appear to be the reason for Afib.

Thanks

And Happy Holidays to everyone

Hi Nan,
Both times I have had A-Fib I had been sick. The first time was with the flu- in ICU for 2 days and had cardioversion. Second time with pneumonia and was in hospital for a week. The A-fib was finally controlled with medication after I got home.

Hope you are feeling better. Have a great Holiday season!

Hi Nan

With Tyce there was no sickness prior to his afib....the only way we found out was because he was having trouble sleeping and I didn't like his color, so off we went to the hospital and bam, 196 was his number. That also was his "sign" that his valve was ready to be replaced.

Hi Carla, Nancy and Evelyn, thanks so much for responding.

I ended up back in the ER two more times and was finally admitted on Sunday and out on Christmas Eve Day. Hopefully the increased dose of Betapace will keep the A-Fib at bay.

Carla, I am glad that you got it under control, and Evelyn, that Tyce did also.

And Nancy, thank you for your kind words.

I hope that all of you had a wonderful and healthy holiday!
