Hi Everyone,

This week I am working in an area of the Black Forest in the wine country portion of Germany. I am staying in a very small town called "Neuweier". This is a beautiful area surrounded by the hills and the grapeyards on the mountain sides.

Attached are a few pictures I took from my hotel room.
( It's more like a Bed & Breakfast than a hotel)

Hope everyone is doing well. I have been here since May 5th and return on May 20th. Cristi came over with me on this trip for a week, and she really enjoyed Germany and the people. Everyone here has been extremely nice to us.

Hi,

Here is another one of the hotel I am in.

I forgot to mention... The hotel is across the street from the church, and over here the church bells ring all through the day on the hour, and in 15 min increments. It is wonderful to hear them. Although... I sure am glad that I am not working 2nd or 3rd shirts and trying to sleep during the day with the bells ringing.

Behind it, to the left, is another high hill with a castle. It is not in the picture however. Not sure if I will have time to visit it, but if I do, I will take a few pictures and send them.

My goodness, those are steep hillsides!
It looks like a beautiful area, and I'm happy that your wife got to experience it with you.
How's the weather been?

Tough job you have.;) :D ;) It is great that you are having such wonderful places to see and work. We should all be so lucky.
Thanks for sharing.

Okay - rub it in. I'm here in soggy Illinois and you are in Germany! Keep those photos coming!

Beautiful pictures, Rob. I remember being in a small picturesque town in Germany and having the peace disturbed by American Army Jets flying overhead- church bells are better! Enjoy- glad your wife has been able to share.

Rob, those are just lovely scenes. The vineyards and hillsides look so peaceful but I wouldn't want to climb up 'em. The hotel is so nice - it looks almost small enough for them to call you by your first name. I am sure you and Christi had a great time together while she was there. This is a richness you are gaining that you would not have had a chance to see any other way than working over there for awhile.

My first trip to Washington D.C. almost felt ghostly with all those important people who had been there throughout our history. I hope none of that from WWII is felt there in such as beautiful place as what you are showing us. It's hard to imagine the things that went on there.
