This past weekend was our annual houseboat trip that we've taken for 12 years with our 5 best friends.

This picture is the sunset we had Friday night - no computerized image enhancement. What you see is what we got.

Hi Karlynn,
Wow! You guys must have really enjoyed yourselves imensly!!! I know I would like to be able to move to Winthrop, Maine (100 miles from the slum I live in now...LOL (Don't mind me, I just love self-depreciating humor...I grew up on the stuff...LOL) which is a really georgeous town with plenty of water around to enjoy (I love being around lakes, swimming, and all that jazz). The way I look at it is that in order to keep from getting nervous about my health, I have to try and focus on enjoying the simpler things in life-the beauty of the land around you...I hope you continue to have awesome sunsets and sunrises on a very frequent basis...P.S. the smell of a nice woodstove only adds to the fun....Harrybaby666 :D :D :D

Karlynn,

Thanks for the stunning views. I'm sure you had a really relaxing weekend. It's amazing what a little down time and a nice sunset can do for you. I trust that you had a glass of a nice California red in hand as you watched the sun go down ;)

As a matter of fact I did! It was a lovely Merlot, matched the sunset nicely. :)

Hi Karlynn

Hi Karlynn

That really brings back memories from when we owned a 52 ft. houseboat..Every Friday afternoon we would head to lake and join 8 other couples and go out to an island and tie up to one another. ..Had a nice beach..and would spend the weekend. The men would build a huge bonfire..and we would cook, swim, ski, ect. We alweays had a great breakfast together...If the weather was bad. just stayed on the dock and did the same thing. Played cards, ect...We lived full-time for 8 months while we built our home on the Lake...then we moved to the mountains and sold it....We just spent this weekend in the Smokie Mountains in our Motorhome...Life goes on..but am lucky to have been able to enjoy the lake...NOW, if we can get rid of the last of hurricane Jeanne..raining here now..but hopefully she will move out of Georgia on to S.C., N.C. and Eastern states. Enjoyed seeing the pictures. Bonnie
