if you wear glasses and they need changing or if you can't see/read well, just hold down the alt key and run your mouse wheel forward and watch the print grow or backwards if you want smaller print. happy computing

I learned one this week the hard way. While trying to get one of the programs to close out, I did the Ctrl, Alt, delete a few times, or so I thought. To my dismay, the computer screen totally flipped 90 degrees and so did the mouse arrow. OK, what the heck did I do now?? I was too tired to do anything about it, so I just shut off the computer.

The next day, craning my neck to Google the problem with everything akimbo, I discovered that all I had to do was Ctrl, Alt and Up arrow, and it flipped right back.

I guess I inadvertently did that the night before instead of Ctrl, Alt, delete.

Hensylee, I tried the mouse wheel thing, it didn't work on my computer, unfortunately. Sounds like a good thing.

I believe Ann meant to say: Hold down the "Control" key and scroll.
It works fine here.
Also, I have on the lower right corner of my screen a tiny icon of a magnifier with a + sign on it followed by 100%.
Clicking on the + sign will increase the font size. It's a big help when viewing small print in ads, etc.

Thanks Ann for the trick and thanks Bina for clarifying it! It neat! I am always looking for my glasses and sometimes I go to 'view' and change text size to the largest, but not as good as this.

If you really have problems seeing your screen, go to start/programs/accessories/ accessabilty and choose magnifyer. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how big things can be!

Years ago I actually had a plastic Fresnel magnifying lens mounted in front of my (small at that time) monitor so that I could read without straining. Now the larger monitors, adjustable resolutions, and my computer-only prescription glasses do the trick. BTW, the lenses in the glasses are the same power as the middle of my trifocals.

Right. That's what I was trying to explain earlier, but I didn't have the terminology. Thanks.
(I got IE7 last summer after my computer crashed)
