8 Weeks Paid Time Off!!

At Arrow Electronics where I have worked for 7 years, we have a very neat benefit called a sabatical. Every 7 years, employees are required to take 8 continuous weeks off with normal pay. We aren't allowed to show up at work, call work, email work or have anything whatsoever to do with work.

Well, Mine starts on March 12th! I will be off until May 15th

I want to apologize to everyone for what I feel is a bit of neglect of this site and responses to you as the membership. I have relied almost completely on Ross to hold down the fort and while Ross has done an excellent job, I don't really feel good about that and he deserves more support from me.

One of my main goals of my time off is to set up some sort of realistic schedule in my life that will allow me to spend a set amount of time on the forum each day to get my finger back on the pulse of this community.

You have all done such a great job of maintaining order here and adding value to VR.com as a whole.

Congratulations, Hank. I know how much you must be looking forward to this. My son is a partner in a patent law firm in D.C. and after 7 years, they get a 4 month sabbatical. His starts July 1st and he is so excited to have this time to spend with his family.

I'm envious! I've been at the Star-Telegram since 1978 and the only paid times off I've gotten have been for vacations, holidays & surgery.
