It is now 6 weeks post-op from an isolated mitral valve repair with Dr. Glower at Duke in Durham, NC. The first 2 weeks were rough - fevers, stiches, chest cramps from the drainage tube site. At 4 weeks, I was doing push-ups and sit ups! I am now back in martial arts class feeling better than before. I don't get out of breath nearly as much - it is remarkable. My complete story from symptom onset to present is at www.myvalvesurgery.com . I hope this is inspiring or at least relatable to others. Good luck.
