Yesterday was the six month mark since my surgery. Im back to normal in just about every respect. I had 3 beers last night to celebrate along with a big bowel of caso (sp ?) dip and chips. I'm even back to using a regular razor blade ! I ran 4 miles this AM, not sure if that negated the beers and chips and dip in regards to calories but Im thrilled that I can use running as a way to burn calories, certainly I couldn't 6 1/2 months ago.
So to all of you who are out there waiting on your surgery, stay strong and keep a positive attitude. Once you get to the other side of your procedure you can get back to a very normal existence. With that added bonus that life seems just that much sweeter. OHS tends to peel away all the crap in your life and forces you to focus on what is truely important.
