I just read a article about a new 3D echo device. It is claimed that it provides better images pre surgery allowing better decision making and higher success rates especialy when trying to repiar a valve.

And not least - it frees us from the ugly TEE!

Any one with experience yet?

I had a baby picture posted of one. It is excellent, but I don't know of anyone that's had it for their heart yet. Anybody?

I've been trying to remember who it was but we did have a member who had had one several months ago. I think it was a male who had congenital heart problems and he was telling us what a great thing it was. His name might come to me in a few days................

In fact, I think at that time it was mentioned that the availability was pretty much limited to the Chicago area and possibly ?Stanford. Gina had responded to the thread so maybe she will remember.

I have

When I was early in my tests at Cleveland Clinic they asked if I would participate in a study of the 3D echo. I agreed to.
It gives much better data to the docs.
I will go back to my records and see if I can pull out any 'real' information on these.
They continue to do the 3D and a regular echo on me when I go for check ups.
It has a very different look to it on the screen.
