OK, here's the question. Is it possible to do a 24hr bike ride one year after OHS? I figure if I did this thing the two previous years and did'nt even know I had a heart problem how hard could it be with a new beefed up model.:D Seriously if things keep progessing the way they have been I will start trainning hard in January and sould have about 2000 miles on the bike by then. I have'nt talked to my cardio about it yet. Is this too much too soon?

Mark

PS If anyone is interested in it would be great to have some more valvers there! Check it out, www.n24hc.org.

Go For It

Subject to the general caveat that you should rely on your medical team for advice and absent any unusual facts about your situation, you should go for it. One year is sufficient recovery and the point at which I was given the green light to train aggressively for my endurance sport of choice - long distance running. Good Luck. Mark

I would echo that you should check with your Cardio. Hopefully you will get the green light, because this race sounds like a great time! I toyed with the idea of doing a 24-hour race in the past (on foot - and before this whole heart mess came up). Maybe it's time to start considering it again...
