I'm pitching the idea of bringing the 2006 reunion to St. Louis, Missouri. I have let Hank know that I will be willing to get it together if he chooses St. Louis as next year's location.

In actuality, St. Charles, MO is where I would like to hold it. St. Charles is about 15 minutes from Lambert Airport and 25 minutes to midtown St. Louis. St. Charles is located on the Missouri River and they have a riverboat casino on their riverfront. The town is also known for its antiques and a big Bass Pro Shop.

If enough members feel that St. Louis would be a convenient location for the reunion site, perhaps Hank will be agreeable to the suggestion. Please let me know what your thoughts are and don't forget to vote on the poll that Hank posted. :)

Reunion Location Poll

Thanks for the suggestion. I am going to start a poll to begin collecting information for next year.

Many of you will remember when I did this last year, and then decided to have it in Vegas against popular opinion.

The main reason that I made that decision was because I knew I was going to be in charge of it and I needed it to be close in order to make it happen.. I know - poor excuse.

I apologize for the communist approach.

Anyway - Look for the poll and lets collect some feedback before the 2005 reunion so we can discuss it in Vegas!

Hey Mary,
I like you idea and know you would do a good job at putting it on and also know there are others close by that would help out. I think the St. Louis area would be a Great place to hold our 2006 reunion.
You have my vote. :D
Take Care

Mary, this is just a plot to get us all to a St Louis Cardinals game, isn't it?

;)

Course...wouldn't it be sweet if the reunion was a weekend during the Cubs/Cardinals Series at the new Busch Stadium?

Regardless, I like your idea :).

Count me in, plus, I'd be happy to help organize.

Cort,

You know that sometimes I use the VR official crystal ball to peer into the future. . .
*wrestles it away from Ross*
This time I catch a glimpse of Cubbies and Redbirds in a new stadium with VR members sitting side by side cheering them on . . . .it could happen! ;) ;) ;)

It's about a six hour drive for me but I would love to come to St. Louis. I used to have to drive up there once a month when I was the March of Dimes Director of Southwest Missouri. (for five years) I love the town of St. Charles. It's a really neat little town, love the antique shops, the restaurants. You most certainly have my vote.

Mary,

Although it is on the WRONG side of the Mississippi (see my post in the pole), we would try to make the trip just to meet you. Of course, seeing the other VR.COM members would be nice too. Especially since I (ME) wouldn't have to do any work.

Checked my map program and it would be an 11 hour drive (6 if my wife drives  :D ) or about 700 miles from my front door  . However, I could be half way there by time I got through the Atlanta Airport. Bonnie, maybe we could carpool with you :D :D .

Antique shops and restaurants, I know you've got my wife's vote  .

May God Bless,

Danny

Mary,

Sound great to me. It's almost as good as having one in Cincinnati :D I can drive to St. Louis easily.

Hank, you did good by deciding to have this year's reunion in Vegas. It would have been a problem had we decided on New Orleans. Are you psychic? ;)

Mary, I would be willing to help but I don't know anything about St. Louis other than seeing it on my numerous Ohio to California trips.
