Gud DAY! Ive been a member of this site before my surgery. Ive contented myself in reading ur views about different topics and its been very helpful. I would like to give an overview of myself. I had Bacterial Endocarditis Dec. 2003 and was operated April 2005. Before that i was a basketball enthusiast. Its been 3 years since ive never done heavy physical activity. Well its ok but im gaining weight. I bought myself a stationery bike and its been great. The body pains slowly disappear and i lost 10 lbs. I push myself to the next level and lifted dumbells (14 lbs) and was very glad about the result especially on the reduction of waist size. Id like to ask the weight lifters here some advice on training on this stage of my recovery. By the way ive been a weight trainer for 8 years (18 - 26 years old). Well im 36 now and would like to be active again. Well I understand that basketball is out but weight training is ok. I would appreciate ur advice. Tnx and God Bless!

Glad to see you are getting back into your activities. I can't help with questions about weight lifting, the only time I lift anything is when my wife yells at me.

Curious though, why can't you play basketball anymore? If you don't mind sharing.

Others will be along to share their expertise in weight lifting soon.

Sir,
Tnx for the reply. Cant play bec of the potential head injury.

Well, hello there, Jepskie. How nice to see you again. I can't help, tho. We have others who will be along to answer. I just wanted to let you know you are remembered and to welcome you back home.

Tnx mam. you have always been very nice to all the members here.

Tnx again hensylee. Actually i have played half court basketball myself on the 8th month. I love it but i was scolded by my wife (hehe!). Weights, I think is better than basketball coz It builds strength and does not drain all ur energy. Anyway, I hope somebody else will give input to these thread. Tnx!
