Had Mitral Valve repair back in May of 2012. From what I was told, the surgery was a success and although still a small leak, no where near where it was. However, I have never been able to feel as strong as prior to surgery, not that I expected that.
However, lately I have had very low blood pressure readings right after exercise. 90/50 for example after riding 40 miles. I had been feeling stronger in the last few weeks, but less so recently. I had an echo last week and the technician observed a
leak in the valve, but didn't diagnose it. I thought it looked like only one leaflet was working correctly, but I'm not a doctor. My cardiologist called me to say I was stable. Asking what that meant, he said nothing had changed. However, back in January
he said everything sounded fine. This time nothing more than "you're stable", but we'll see you in a couple of weeks. I'd be interested to know if anyone else with mitral valve repair has had continued leaks that caused more fatigue?...or low BP post exercise.
I played volleyball in the heat today and was washed out after 2 games. Didn't want to push it. Felt really tired. Usually can go more. Perhaps humidity and heat was a factor.
I was an 18mph-20mph biker prior to surgery...now 15-16. Frustrated...but know I'm also not working out to the extent I used to either.

You are not working out to the extent you used to either may be part of the fatigue issue . I get a little frustrated from time to time also. I had a different surgery but I suppose that none of us should expect things to be as good as before. I would think that "normal" people would have a difficult time completing one volleyball game at the intensity that you played.
I don't know how old you are, but at 55, I think I need to do more strength workouts and intervals. Work on your core, ride your bike and wait to see what happens when you see the doc in a couple weeks.
