.........Mr Ted Brackenbury of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh replaced my rapidly failing aortic valve with a mechanical one. Apart from the occasional warfarin blip, no problems at all in those ten years and currently feeling very healthy indeed. Off through the snow to the pub now to celebrate!

which pub? only joking, it's so long since I've been in Edinburgh, I wouldn't know it anyway. Let's see, last time I was there, I think, was a Pink Floyd concert, Dark Side of the Moon tour.
