10 Weeks Out!!

I am ten weeks out and saw my Cardiologist today for my check up! Everything looks great and I dont go back for a year! No leakage and EF looks great! My heart rate is in the 80's rather than 120's although it takes the Meds to keep it there. For the most part am feeling wonderful. Sleeping great, breathing great, cough is much much better. I think it was the reflux. Dr. said not to worry about lung infiltrates as it is normal given what I went through, surgeon confirmed it as well.

Only complaint is my right side (incision side) I still have numbness and some burning in spots. Sometimes like a pin prick, but for the most part it is getting better each day. I try to remember how blessed I am when I get tired of the strange sensations. Usually worst at the end of the day. I use my right hand for the computer and phone. I keep reminding myself how everyone says it is normal and takes time. Shoulder is still sore, but again will take time. Important thing is my heart is much better.

Dr. Gillinov told me in the hospital that when I go home and get through the healing process to remember to "forget about it 364 days a year and 1 day a year have my yearly echo & checkup"

Another Tulsa person! Greetings. It is very good to hear things are going well with you. Notes such as your's remind us that most people recover well and that is very encouraging. You are not alone with your shoulders. At 16 weeks, my shoulders are finally responding to exercise and feeling better but they have troubled me more consistently than anything else. Take care.
