Well, sorry for not posting in a very long while.....but this weekend has had me in a very focused and thankful mindset. Focused on my family and the fact that we were getting to all be together to celebrate this occasion, and thankful that God has given me this successful year of recovery!
It is true that it takes this long to really feel remarkably better. But I am feeling unbelievably better!! I have so much energy that I have a hard time taking a nap even.
No real issues this year other than blowing out my knee, which is finally better now as well. I'm even back to jogging and training for the Indy 500 Mini Marathon which is in 2 weeks. My speed will never be great, but just being able to do it is very gratifying. And I get to run races with my girls, which makes me so proud!
For all of you recovering, BE PATIENT! When you get down and feel like you'll never feel the same again, remember that your strength will come very slowly. Do what the doctors tell you to do and have faith that this too shall pass and He will give you strength!
Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
