Hi and a big thanks to everyone for your support!!! My mom was kind enough to post for me while I was in the hospital- she also printed out all the fabulous, supportive responses by everyone- THANK YOU ALL!!
Today I am a week post op, hanging in there... I am fairly sedate and painfree, though only when I stay current on the painkillers. Today I have walked downstairs, sat at the table, and made it to the computer. It seems that day by day, I am getting stronger and stronger, though still sluggish at times. Physical therapist came by this morning and recommended using a cane, as I walk a little off-balance ("splintering" is what it's called, I'm told). Eating pretty normally (solid foods) though my appetite is not very high. Am looking forward to reading through more of the "post-op" threads. Thank you all again. Will post more later.
