    Fingernail color changes?

Thanks for the info Clay! I checked my blood pressure when i got home from work a few times and noticed the systolic pressure was a little higher than normal 125-137 over 64-78. Normally it is about 105-113 over 60 to 75. Will keep an eye on it the next few days.

    Fingernail color changes?

I haven't been to my cardiologist since June 2013 and am due back in June 2014 (once a year echo's), but will probably go to my regular physician if this keeps up. The white part isn't from the nail physically lifting off the nail bed and separating, the nail bed underneath the nail plate is...

    Fingernail color changes?

Hi all! I just noticed a couple of days ago that my fingernail beds have changed color. At first I only noticed it in both my thumbnails but I can also see it now in my index fingers and my middle finger on my right hand. Both the pinkies and ring fingers seem to be normal in color. Right above...

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Went to my cardio yesterday - she said that it is definitely not my valve that is giving me problems as it looks great for a bicuspid. She put me on a 48 hour holter monitor to see if she can find any palpitations of sorts. She also suggested that I possibly see a rheumatologist for the possible...

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Maybe it is all in my head, who knows! I'm not scheduled for surgery (I've had it previously when I was 19 for an aortic aneurysm), I'm only going to my cardiologist on a yearly basis to keep track of my aortic regurgitation and stenosis (echo and CT alternating years). The chest pain has...

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

I can understand that they did the CT to possibly check for another aneurysm but I feel as if they should have done an echo also to check my valve. I guess the thumbs down is mainly because I don't honestly believe it is heartburn. It's continued for 4 days now. It gets better with rest and...

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Gotcha! Well I will have to see what my cardiologist says. Still feeling some chest pain but not as bad. It's this weird burning sensation. I can also feel my heartbeating in my chest also just while sitting. The ER doctor said it was probably just heartburn :thumbd:

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Apparently they called my cardiologist's office and another cardiologist that was on call looked at my files and told them to do the CT. I always thought CT's were superior to echo's but is that not the case for valvular disorders?

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Still had chest pain today that seemed to be relieved with rest so I went to the ER - one EKG, CT, and x-ray later and said everything checked out fine.

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Go us 24 year olds! :p Well I called my cardio and the earliest I could get was June 19th so I will be going then. I was due for my annual in November with a CT but I was glad I could at least bump up the appointment to 2 weeks from now. AmyR when are you getting your surgery?

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

I'm not really dizzy at all but I do get lightheaded about once a week. Also, I'm not sure if this is SOB or just me being out of shape but I walk about 3 blocks to work from where I park and I'm huffing and puffing by the time I get there (granted one block is slightly uphill). I am going to...

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Yeah I just kept making excuses for the chest pain yesterday and said hey it'll be gone tomorrow and it's gone today! Despite the fact - I am still calling my cardio today to schedule an appointment. AmyR - I'm not due for surgery as far as I know. I've already had OHS once for a thoracic...

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Thanks for everyone for the replies! Will probably schedule a cardio appointment soon as I've been having chest pains pretty much all day :/

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

I should probably go to KU and go see my cardiologist just in case. I'm due for my annual in November but maybe I can bump it up.

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Okay well at least I'm not the only one! I also get that sensation as if I have been running out in the cold weather for some time. I don't know how to describe it - almost a burning/heaviness of sorts in my chest.

Heartbeat while lying down on left side

Anyone else feel their heartbeat while lying down on the left side? It just recently started for me and I wonder if that is an indication my aortic regurgitation or stenosis ( I have both) is getting worse?

    Misdiagnosis

The same thing happened to me. I just got a new cardiologist in Kansas City - my old one was in Charlotte, NC. I was told and believed for 4 years that I had BAV. The new cardiologist says no BAV. She explained to me that if the previous echo's didn't have enough images it would seem like I have...

    Misdiagnosed BAV

Hmm maybe she did consult with your doctor, I see Dr. Hannen. Anyways, I don't think I will be going to get a second opinion because like you said, Mid-America Cardiology is pretty much the best of the best out here. I'm pretty sure it's ranked #24 out of the top 100 cardiology programs...

    Misdiagnosed BAV

Hi all, I was told back in 2008 by my cardiologist in Charlotte, NC that I had a bicuspid aortic valve. Made sense since I had an ascending aortic aneurysm to go along with it. They removed the aneurysm and put a graft in when I was 19 and all has been well since. I moved out to Kansas City...
