    AVR replacement at 41yo.. Which way to go ?

    Not everyone gets a mechanical when having a redo. I had a tissue mitral valve replacement at 34, and a tissue for a redo at 44, three years ago.

    Still trying to make a final decision - my first post

    I am with kfay on this one--justwaiting has chosen a tissue valve. Graphic details of surgery or quick quips about taking a little pill are probably not what is needed to help justwaiting to prepare for surgery.

    Dressler's... Hope it's gone soon

    Kathy--Regarding pericarditis if you have a redo--- For my redo, they removed my pericardium altogether. I don't know how common that is, but then you won't have that problem.
