1st post! question for the ladies... kind of embarrasing.

This happened to me and was not a problem at all, even though I have heavy periods. The care staff have seen it all before and it's just another day to them. I mentioned it on admittance, they made a note and just dealt with it. They gave me disposable underwear, pads that go with them, and...

    weird vision stuff and anticoagulant

I have similar episodes on a regular basis, sometimes every day, sometimes once a month, I've had various tests including scans etc, and it was diagnosed as occular migraine. My vision doesn't totally go - It starts with the white blob as though a shadow from a flashbulb, then develops into...

    Reality hits hard

John, that's so sad. I send you my condolences.

    ahh - the wait...

I recall I felt just like this in the weeks leading up to the op, and then suddenly without trying I found a little calm corner in my brain to sit in while waiting out the last few days. I hope you do too! (I also became obsessed with washing my hands after touching door handles etc!) Thinking...

    Concentration problems with high INR.

Perhaps whatever causes your INR to be high, also causes your poor concentration? Whenever I have a high bp spike, my INR also goes up.

    Appreciatin' the Little Things

I don't live in a beautiful part of the world, so the wonders of nature are squeezed into the concrete around me and don't stir me very often. But not a day goes by that I don't consciously give thanks for being alive, mobile and sane, with a lovely husband, lovely children and a few dear close...

    That was REALLY weird!

Yes, oh yes. This happens to me occasionally (once every few months maybe) but for just a few minutes. I'll have a glitch where I have to really think hard to remember what month and year it is, or I forget briefly the name of someone I know really well or a piece of information that is...

    Range 2.0-2.5

A few comments in response A few comments in response I really do appreciate the time you?ve all given to thinking this through and sharing your thoughts; I can?t really talk this through with my family or friends. A few random comments in response: I have a St. Jude. I don?t know if it?s...

    Range 2.0-2.5

Well, everyone in the UK on warfarin is issued a little orange book showing their anticoag therapy record, which they’re supposed to carry with them at all times and of course take with them to each clinic visit, so I have my INR record since starting warfarin. Here is my current book: 22 May...

This has been a busy, up and down week for me

Ah Ross. I'd like to say something uplifting and/or humourous just to empathise. And I will, when I think of something... In the meantime though I have a general all-rounder that I use when I just want to give a bit of moral support: Whatever is happening, good or bad, this too will pass...

    Beauty.

And here am I Dennis. In a huge, scruffy open-plan office crammed with desks and overdressed people; overhead lighting glaring down and air conditioners puffing out stale air; screens flickering all around; computer hard drives under my desk buzzing and radiating heat making my shins itchy...

    Range 2.0-2.5

My range is 2.0-2.5. I've often thought it seems lower than most (on this forum) but have never queried it. I dip in and out of the forum and the random posts I've read on dosing I just find really confusing with advice on percentages and missing doses and don?t do this and don?t listen to that...

    Kidney Stones & Coumadin!

Yes, I live in an area that has very 'hard' water. Just leaving an upturned washed glass to drain away leaves a calcified ring at the sink. I go through phases of using Brita water filters, but somehow I get out of the habit for long stretches. I don't actually enjoy drinking water or cold...

    Kidney Stones & Coumadin!

I had lithotrypsy years before I was on warfarin. I'm not posting to give any advice, just to share my experience. After lithotrypsy I had a lot of bleeding for maybe two weeks. I passed a lot of granular stuff left over after the stone was blasted to pieces and it caused soreness inside and...

OK what all tubes etc should I expect

Oh yes! Lack of action in the bowel department... Oh yes! Lack of action in the bowel department... Hot Rod Harry - Re your last comment. I'd completely forgotten all about that! The op and the codeine based painkillers caused the most awful constipation for days:eek:. But, like...
