Diagnosed BAV with mild to moderate regurg

Just an update: I have had both of my daughters scanned and thank God they don't have bicuspid aortic valves, very pleased with that outcome. I have since seen cardio no.2 (The Prof), he basically stated that my anomalous LCX is not stenosed, proven with the stress test, if it was stenosed I...

Diagnosed BAV with mild to moderate regurg

Ah ok, I misinterpreted your post. I thought you were super woman & doing it easy, 18% gradient with 150bpm. Goes to show I'm new to this valve replacement caper & grasping the enormity of the situation *slaps forehead* :o. Heart basics 101, the harder you push yourself your heart must compensate.

Diagnosed BAV with mild to moderate regurg

Thanks for confirming ski girl. The guy conducting the stress test asked if I had any prior injuries. I probably should have told him this but didn't want him to go easy on me. I stopped the test. Three years ago I broke my right ankle (dislocation & a spiral fracture of the lower fibula)...

Going back to how the BAV was discovered, I was getting chest pains/tension, went to see the Dr, reffered to a cardiologist, echo, stress tess...

Diagnosed BAV with mild to moderate regurg

Thanks for the insight, well wishes and advice. I wish I didn't have any symptoms, if that were the case I would be happy to put off surgery until the BAV degenerated and my heart started to enlarge. My CT results has thrown a spanner in the works though. They found an anomolous LCX artery...

Diagnosed BAV with mild to moderate regurg

Thanks for the replies and the support. Bracken congrats on the successful op and hoping all is smooth sailing from here. I agree as well, I want to be in the best allowable shape I can be come surgery. Just last week I began to look into Yoga classes around my area, even though I play...

Diagnosed BAV with mild to moderate regurg

Hi all, I'd like to start by stating that everyone contributing to this site is pure inspiration, I'm not sure what state of mind I would be in right now if it wasn't for all of you. This is my story & I'll try to keep it as short as possible: I'm 35, married with two beautiful daughters. I'm...
