While in Nashville, make sure you go to Demos downtown and break that diet. Also, the Opreyland Hotel just re-opened; they say it looks awesome.

    Dizzy, no explanation

I think there is a big difference between vertigo and Light headed/dizzy spells. I have had both, and they are both disturbing in their own way. I was getting lightheaded until about 6 months out. I would get so light headed I nearly blacked out a few times, and several times my legs lost...

    Vasectomy and heart problems

Here is a topic you don't see here every day.:biggrin2: Non-the-less, I would like to pull from whatever knowledge may be here on the topic. I see much information that suggests this procedure has no significant long term risk. Other articles suggest there is an inherent danger of the immune...

Going off Amiodarone - Wish me luck

My story was just like Andy's. I got of the amio 8 weeks ago and no afib at all. It seems my PVCs have slowed down as well. I tell you, the healing process of OHS is a roller coaster of crazy stuff. I even went through a stage where my heart simply felt tired and week. Feeling much better now.

Pleasure to meet all of. You give hope and understanding

I went to a national sales meeting last week. Out of 78 people in the meeting, 4 of us had mechanical valves. All the stuff I was worried about before the surgery is no big deal now. You will be shocked at how the human brain will adapt. You are right about one thing though, you do not...

Back on Amiodorne at 12 weeks post op

I got afib three weeks post op, and ended staying in ot non stop. They put me on amio and the afib completely went away in a few weeks. They took me off the amio in three months, and so far I have not had any afib. I did have PVCs for a while, but those have even calmed down. I have been off...

Anyone ever get Vertogo or double vision

I had an interogation and asked them about the exact time and dates of the vertigo. They reported no abnotmalities, and no pacing. My heart is always in perfect rythm when this happens, and my heart rate is normal. A couple times I managed to take my BP in the middle of an event, and my BPwas...

Anyone ever get Vertogo or double vision

I had a mitral valve replacement last May, and then went on amioderone three weeks out for afib. The next day I got this very strange temporary vertigo, where my vision was distorted, and I was seeing double at times. It last between two to five minutes. This has happened since then about...

    New to this forum..scared

All good advice I see. Remember, the human mind will accep and adapt to your situation. Before you know it, you will be done with all this and be on the road to recovery. Today my little familty unit went to a fall festival. While we were there we thought about the year before when we went...

QUESTIONS again for those who have/had palpitations a few months after surgery!

I can agree that all the stuff that happens after surgery is a roller coaster. It's almost like one strange thing rolls into another. Here is my story. 3 weeks post op = starting to get better, then afib set in; very dizzy with this 4 weeks post op = started amioderone, and then the vertigo...

minimally invasive heart surgery with no bone cutting

I had minimally invasive surgery. I had no complications, and went home in four days; I think two or three days is far to aggresive. The pain was not that bad, I was off pain killers in a week. My only complaint is the right side of my chest is sore under the nipple.

Now taking aspiring after 2 years

As Bina says I think they do different things. A 81mg aspirin seems to be a good idea for anyone based on what I have read thus far. I started Lavasa (prescription fish oil) and it seemed to reduce the amount of coumadin I needed. I take about 21mg per week.

To all those who recently had surgery...

I am at 4.5 months and my only physical leftover is my dang chest hurts under each nipple; go fiigure. The heart seems to take longer to calm down and act more normal. I am thinking 6 months will be the majic number.

    corevalve...... what do we think

I was very interested in this type of valve; the benefits were, no blood thinners, no clicking, NO MAJOR SURGERY!!! anytime you can prevent cutting into the heart, that is worth trying. I wonder how the replace the valves when they give out. Can they simply be removed and then another...

    My PVCs Source?! Surprise!!

Every mad add complications, many we don't know about. I noticed that when I stopped my amioderone my PVCs slowed down, and my heart physicaly felt stronger. I know amio can do things to the thyroid, so you may be on to something with this connection.

    My heart is so confusing

Slowing the heart rate is not always a bad thing. For instance, coreg slows your heart and also helps it pump better. If you have a perfectly normal heart size you may not need these drugs, but beta blockers like coreg can protect your heart from increased dilation. Since dilation leads to...

    My heart is so confusing

I am not sure why you feel the meds are are causing the PVCs, but i guess it is possible. I kind of think the amioderone made everything with my heart work worse,,, except for getting rid of afib. I also get less PVCs when I am working out. In fact, I seem to feel much better all over when I...
