Greetings Mike! And welcome to the forum. We're about the same age (I'm 64). Had my valve replaced with a tissue valve in 2019, aged 61. I definitely had noticeable shortness of breath in the first month with any kind of activity if I pushed myself too much (walking, climbing stairs)...
