Wow, Rossman.......I guess I'm just glad to say that I'm sooooo out of "the loop" that I can't believe all of this has been happening. All I know is that this is one of the very best sites for anyone who is in the waiting room, having valve replacement, or for family members who need support...

    coumadin and beer?

Hi Scuba I can tell you that my husband's cardio told him that a glass of wine every day is absolutely ok, but a bottle in one sitting is not. The important thing is to be consistent.....my gut would be that 2-3 per game X 2 on Sunday would be too much, but that would just be my gut. I'm sure...

Last Day to make a decision

Hi Alex.... Whatever you decide will be the right decision. For my husband at 59 there was no decision....he didn't want to face the possibility of a second replacement surgery in 10-15 years, so he wanted mechanical. As to St. Jude's or On-X, we discussed it with our surgeon and his...

This has been a busy, up and down week for me

Well, Rossman, I like "Compared to the prior study there has been no significant interval change." That's good and the teeth will all work themselves out. Think of the new doc as a challenge for you to mold to your liking.......and you've always been up for challenges, my man. Evelyn

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-3-09

Hi All Checking in....down 1.6 this week at WW. Good thing. I think putting down 6 yards of mulch in our yard and unloading it from the pickemup truck did the job. Chimpman....this is a great thread. I try to check it every day. Keep it up. Evelyn

Usual INR range for Mechanical Aortic Valve

My Hubby's surgeon told him 2.5-3.5 for his mechanical Aortic valve. Our cardio agreed and that is where he tries to stay. Sometimes it works, and some times, NOT......Remember what INR means: It's Never Right! Ev

    Surgery done, worst thing?

My husband said he remembers three issues. The first was not being able to sleep when he came home because he just couldn't get comfortable. The second was COUGHING AND SNEEZING, and the third was having to use that damned Spirometer for the first few days/week. Evelyn

    Brass Tacks on Coumadin/Warfarin

    Dancing with the stars

Well, last night was a shocker!!! In my opinion, Gilles should have won that hands down, with Melissa second (much to my chagrin), followed by Shawn. Obviously America didn't feel that way!!! I was glad Melissa was third, but Gilles was the best dancer. Evelyn
