Is this depression, anxiety or a sign?

Hello everyone, Sorry for taking so long to reply but I was away. Thank you for all your responses. Anxiety is weird, some people say that they feel anxious every now and then, like when they give a speech, but is this the same kind of anxiety! I can understand epstns definition, that its...

Is this depression, anxiety or a sign?

Hello all, Thank you for all your messages. Epstns, my echo is fairly recent (7months ago), my next echo is going to be this July I think or next July (because my cardiologist said that he might see me every 2 years instead of 1, which I'm not particularly keen about this arrangement)...

Is this depression, anxiety or a sign?

Sorry, I got no idea where to post this, so please feel free to move it. Ok, I wonder how many if you, who had surgery ever had these thoughts, years before surgery or you knew you'll pull through fine... My thoughts are: 1. I am going to die either during surgery (if I ever need it) or my...

    Newbie with many questions

That is very well said! Educate yourself, here is a fantastic place to discuss your concerns, but be very careful what you read on the net... Missing pieces of the jigsaw can leave you with lots of anxiety for no reason at all... I "learnt" the hard way! And the more crappy things you read, the...

Pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but wanted confirmation

Ok fine, don't shovel, it might be bad for you as per the comments here! but, I disagree with comments like Bina's. What, you've actually seen this chap's medical records? Or you know how large his aneurysm was? Or you was his pcp? Comments like this kept me anxious for over 4 years, and if you...

Hi Duffy, Thank you for your reply. Ok, this needs some clarification. Firstly, I strongly suggest that jayhawk discuss this with her cardiologist and we will be grateful if the advice is made available on this thread. The article, as you mentioned is targeted mainly on those with coronary...

Pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but wanted confirmation

I am still perplexed to why can't jayhawk shovel snow? I don't want to hijack this thread, but how I see it is that, yes, 48mm is enlarged but not very enlarged. Obviously, I don't know medical history or where in the aorta is enlarged, but, I don't see why can't she shovel snow if as guyswell...

Pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but wanted confirmation

Hi, I'm not too sure why not ? Is it because of the enlargement or because of your narrowing ? I got no narrowing of the valve, but got an enlargement of the aortic root up to 47mm (8 months ago scan). My doctor, with many other doctors confirmed that I can carry on with normal activities and no...

New guy BAV and AR dilation

Hi, sorry, but for the sake of my sanity, can you please clarify what you mean by...."probably at least another 10 years" is it life expectancy or Change of aorta again? The reason I'm asking is firstly because I have this annoying thing inside my brain named anxiety, but the other reasons are...

    Results are in

Hi Madsometimes, Thank you for your reply. Doc thinks it is white coat hypertension, he told me to stay on the 25mg atenolol morning and evening. He said that the bottom number is absolutely normal, the systolic number is very high, and therefore this means anxiety rather than an underlying issue

    Results are in

Just finished my cardiologist appointment today, and basically these are the results: Very hight BP, 180/78 - he told me that this is because I was very, very, very anxious! I'm currently on 25mg Atenolol twice a day. Aortic root and aorta size is the same as 6 months ago - 4.5cm the root...

    Fear of routine appointments

Thankyou everyone for all your responses. just out of curiosity, how many of you had an aortic root size of 46mm or similar, and stayed stable for many years? Or are still stable? Maybe I should open another thread with this question. Thankyou

    Fear of routine appointments

Hello everyone, wow! Ok! So I ain't alone, these are just normal feelings! I'm thinking, this it, he's gonna tell me I need surgery and I'm gonna **** me pants! How did your cardiologist tell you you need surgery? Were you hoping you're going out fine or knew you needed surgery? Thank you...

    Fear of routine appointments

Dear all, Have anyone of you, ever feared or got really paranoid as you get closer to a routine appointment ? Is this normal ?... Got my usual routine this Friday, and I can sense myself getting paranoid (bad thoughts and all) as I get close. I also find myself being a much "nicer" person (not...

Hi all, Hope you’re all well. Today, all my 3 children had their first cardiologist appointment, their ages are twins 2 years old and 7 year old. Interestingly, heart structure, valves (No BAV), ecg, blood pressure and pulse are all normal, however, all the 3 of them, their aorta is enlarged...
