    Hello everyone

just checking in. I’m in the hospital, after 5 days in ICU I’m currently in my own room. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been having bleeding issues. I’m told now that it’s been a ulcer of the esophagus. The bleeding has been under control, but the GI Dr. was worried about my Coumadin...

    Thoracic aortic aneurysm

I was walking 3 miles for exercise 2 or 3 days a week . The Appointment with the cardiologist is not for another 2 weeks. After getting the news about the aneurysm, I’m not sure if it’s safe to go for my walk. Actually, I’ve been isolating in the house for the last week or so.

    Thoracic aortic aneurysm

Thanks so much. I was just reading another post about someone going through the same thing. I was wondering are aortic aneurysms common with people who had value replacement?

In shock – 12 great years later -- UPDATE

I wish you the best with your surgery. I was just diagnosed with a thoracic aortic aneurysm at 4.7 cm. It came right at the one year mark of my AVR surgery. Is this common for people who have had value replacement surgery? Can’t believe someone else is going through the same thing...

    Thoracic aortic aneurysm

Thanks Paul, I noticed on one of your comments.. you mentioned that you had an 8.2 cm aneurysm. WOW.. good to hear your surgery was a success. I’m thinking about 5 cm and becoming a ticking time bomb. I’m complicating this a little too much!

    Thoracic aortic aneurysm

Good to hear Paul, I work in heavy construction myself. I went back to work 4 months after the AVR surgery. It wasn’t the same, not sure if it was the medication side effects, but after hanging in there for 6 months, I was laid off. Haven’t been back yet. It’s actually 3 months now since I’ve...

    Thoracic aortic aneurysm

I don’t understand the whole thing that much. From what I do know. There is a note in my hospital records from last year, I believe it said an assending thoracic aortic aneurysm measuring 4.3 cm . This was discovered from a ct scan while in the hospital during AVR. Last week I was...

    Thoracic aortic aneurysm

Thanks Leadville, if you don’t mind me asking, have you been ok since you’re surgery? Did CT scans reveal any growth after surgery. Hope I’m not getting too personal by asking these questions. If I am, just disregard. Anyway, hope your feeling well now.

    Thoracic aortic aneurysm

After doing a lot of reading last night, I have a lot of questions for the surgeon who did my AVR last year , who I would want to operate on me again if need be. After discovering a aortic aneurysm in me getting bigger, I’ve been trying to get info about the procedure to correct the problem...

    Help!!!

I do remember the Dr’s talking about it. And as I mentioned, last years records show it was 4.3 cm. Not sure if they wait until it’s a certain size before operating ,but if I was already opened up,why not fix it? It has grown to 4.7 cm as of a couple of weeks ago. I’m going to meet with a...

    Coaguchek xs test strips

Thanks Pellicle, My insurance has referred me to a medical supply , and will now pay for the strips. A Dr. wrote a prescription for 96 strips with no cost to me. I’m not sure about everyone else, but I’ve been buying them since the surgery and there not cheap. At first the pharmacy...

    Coaguchek xs test strips

Being able to self test is great. A question for members who self test. are you able to test with an expired strip? I'm not sure if the little chip that comes with the strips would alert you and not let you perform the test.

    Help!!!

Thanks jwinter, I agree, something has to be done. A doctor would sometimes just knock on my hospital room door, I'd say come in, they would just open the door, not even step into the room, saying they had to run but just wanted to see how I was feeling. The visit would last 15 seconds at...
