    Endocarditis

It sounds like they are. Aren’t you glad you were persistent in telling them that something was wrong, and it wasn’t going away without more intervention?

    Cardiac tamponade

I haven’t heard that it’s ever sewn back up, I thought that it was always left open, but I could and probably am, wrong. I suffered from another pericardial issue post-op, pericardial constriction. The pericardium was very tight across my heart, acting like a straight jacket in limiting my heart...

    Running after surgery

If I understand correctly, you’ve undergone three valve replacements, the first via TAVR, a second when the TAVR was unsuccessful, and a third after endocarditis? How long since your last replacement? There’s a heart forum dedicated to helping members regain their previous level of physical...

    Cardiac tamponade

Good thing medical professionals are able to do their jobs without being waylaid by their patients’ “look”. They’d never get anything accomplished. I hope Mathias decides to join our group when he is able. It would be interesting to hear his recitation of the events he’s experienced along his...

    Endocarditis

Oops, I forgot that you said your cardiologist practices in Columbia. In that case, my husband will not be present!

    Endocarditis

I hope you get answers quickly. Which hospital were you admitted to? I ask because if it’s is St. Francis, my husband will probably be present at your TEE.

@Paleowoman , terrific video lecture on vitamin D. Thank you so much.

Superbob, you definitely need to catch some games! If you could make Opening Day, that would be crazy fun. The entire city goes nuts, and love for the Redbirds is palatable. Better pick night games if you prefer July/August. St. Louis is mighty hot in the summer. I would love to join you at the...

I travel to STL about once a month. Hubby and I meet up with our kids from central MO, spend a night sometimes two, and go to area attractions. As you mention, the zoo is always good, a tour of the Budweiser brewery, Grant’s Farm, the St. Louis Science Center and planetarium, the City Museum if...

Bob, I just asked my Bob your question since he is present at many surgeries and monitors the ventilator post-op. He said there is no chance of any tube becoming stuck. One less thing to worry about . . . 😊

    Staying the Course -- 08/05/2019

@leadville you give me too much credit. I plead ignorance on how to get my vitamin D level to where it needs to be and how to keep it there, without having it tested at my Primary Care doctor’s. When it was low before, he prescribed a massive daily dose for a week (I think). I am uncertain how...

rich01, I have never had a heavy metal test that I know of, but it sounds interesting. I wonder if your feeling better when you work outside is related to increased vitamin D production? I have been tested for that, and I am chronically low.

Ooooh, that provoked quite a reaction! Good to know that you’re not intentionally trying to disrupt the weekly Stay the Course thread.😉👍🏻👍🏻

    Endocarditis

I absolutely, positively understand what you’re saying about your first cardiologist. I changed cardiologists in Cape four times before finally finding one that I trust. One son lives in Columbia, another in Fayette, about 25 miles northwest of Columbia. We’re on I-70 about once a month to visit...
