But now the Lions will have Goff as their QB instead of Matt Stafford...oh wait! I extend my sympathy! As a fan of The Washington Football Team, I am hoping the former 'Skins can land Deshaun Watson as their new QB. Then all my off-season wishes will be fulfilled.
They are very particular here about the second Pfizer vaccine needing to come exactly three weeks after the first one. Our vaccination card has us scheduled for Dose 2 at three weeks later right on the same hour as the first. I don't know if there is magic in such precision. Hope all goes well...
I am assuming you are referring to the signing of the best third baseman in all of baseball, Nolan Arenado. Or is there another signing, too? Yes, as a lifelong Redbirds' fan, I am super-excited about this season, too. I was kind of hoping they could still re-sign second-baseman Kolten Wong...
Greetings fellow Coursers!
So the groundhog saw its shadow so we're supposed to have six more weeks of winter. Humbug! What does some sheltered rodent know about meteorology? Studies have shown that the pampered rodent's forecast is right 50% of all Groundhog Days -- so no better than a coin...
Don't want this week's thread to be all about me, but guess a quick update is in order re our Covid vaccine expedition yesterday. We had to make a harrowing drive through torrential rain to get to the site, so we were worn out when we got there, but staff was exceptionally nice and got my wife...
Welcome, hearty Coursers, to the final full week of January 2021. My, doth tempus fugit when you are having fun. (Just a dash of sarcasm here, not to mention showing off my five years of Latin as a schoolboy.)
Ah but on a quiet Sunday morning, we received a most pleasant and welcome phone call...
Thanks for that information on Ivermectin, Rich. I will check it out and talk with my doctor, with whom, coincidentally, we have an appointment coming up soon.
Octogenarian agonistes: Earliest I've been able to schedule covid-vaxs for my wife and me so far is March 18. One site tells us "see ya in several weeks." Many sites fill up as soon as they announce (or maybe even before?). Heck, it was easier to find toilet paper last March than it is to obtain...
All that and a Dodger World Series victory, too! Congrats, Dodger Fan, and best wishes for many more (valversaries, that is -- being a Cardinals fan, can't wish you a bunch more Dodger titles).
Happy New Week, hearty Coursers! Hope you are all doing well. The winds blow cold around here, for about the 10th straight day on our dawgwalk. Better than the hot air coming from sources other than Nature, if you know what I mean. (Not to mention specific politicians -- so as to adhere to wise...
"Come on, Vaccine! -- I love it! Thanks dornole. Might as well dance around the house to this tune while awaiting our call to the vax line. Here it is for others who might want to join in... together now....
Pretty much a mess here in South Carolina, too. For one thing, local media were reporting today that SC has had the lowest per capita delivery of vaccines among all 50 states. That certainly does not bode well for meeting demand.
Your point about many elderly folks -- the most vulnerable 75, 85...
Thanks for the pretty picture, Superman! We used to live in Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, so we had lots of snow, and, yes, sometimes I miss it. In our 11 years living in coastal Carolina, we've had exactly one 2-inch snowfall. It was here in the morning, the dawgs and grandkids loved it...
There are several major hospitals in our area that the state listed as vaccine providers for phase 1B that nevertheless reported on the state's website this morning that they lack the vaccines, so the over-75s can't sign up. According to local media, that's frustrating a lot of people along with...
Well, tomorrow (Jan.13) is a big day for we South Carolinians who check all the ancient and decrepit boxes. We can schedule appointments for our vaccinations. We will have a website to give us locations of vaccine providers and a phone number to direct us (let's hope) to the right scheduler for...
Dear Hearty Coursers, best wishes for this new week and of course the New Year in which we are placing so much hope. I'm thinking we shouldn't go hog wild with our expectations of cotton candy and rainbows over the next 12 months. No doubt there will be good happenings and bad in 2021, as with...
Interesting, thanks! Raises the question whether we will be offered a choice of vaccine products. I found out that our local CVS will be administering we (75-and-older) oldsters' shots and will contact us when it is time to come hobbling on in for it. I assume CVS will have been issued one...
Good Morning, Hearty Coursers! Happy New Year! Hope you are enjoying some refreshing R&R during the holidays.
Great to hear from you all in the festive thread before this one, including some thoughtful reflections from Steve that just came in this morning (Dec. 21 thread).
To state the...
Certainly this is saddening news. Bob was brilliant and a kind and caring soul. He also possessed a keen sense of humor and a way with words. We were blessed by his regular presence here for a long time and will continue to benefit from words of wisdom he posted here.
Hail Hearty Coursers, one and all! Hope you are well and that the holidays are bringing you more joy than angst.
Speaking of the latter, we've had an extended discussion of the anti-covid vaccines (the pros and cons/risks versus benefits) on the December 8 thread, and I am fine with it...
