    Life expectancy with or without

I'm just curious if, assuming she was sympathetic, having my wife do ( this-for me of course) would have the same beneficial effects?

25 year old male in US with BAV/aneurysm

bingo ... and we can sure help you with that aspect. Also notice how few studies look past 10 years? This is definitely frustrating, as well as the lack of matched cohort studies and lack of studies looking at young adults that don’t define young adults as all adults <65 years old. Now, I'll...

25 year old male in US with BAV/aneurysm

I have also thought about aneurysm repair, they give you a nice cartoon drawing that makes it look nice and neat But something tells me it's a little messier...., and life expectancy and if it's affected but the reality is once it gets to a certain size If you don't get the surgery, your life...

    Newbie ascending aorta aneurysm

Yeah, I think it's pretty common of an experience that surgeons are more eager to operate than cardiologists. My surgeon, Dr. Bavaria, thought going in was a good idea and my aneurysm was measuring 4.8 cm

    Newbie ascending aorta aneurysm

Yeah it's funny how that works, it was 7 years ago but it feels like the other day. I'm hoping I get maybe another 50 out of it....

    Newbie ascending aorta aneurysm

I can definitely come miserate. "Fortunately", sounds weird saying that, when My aneurysm was discovered back in 2014 It was estimated to be 4.7 to 4.8 cm, my cardiologist wanted me to watch and wait and just don't lift anything heavy and all that and put me on blood pressure medication even...

    10 years!

I've been meaning to go to "the blob" showing in Phoenixville but like many things it was put in hold the last couple of years. Not that I'm a big fan of the movie but it just seemed like a good day out with the family. Those areas are nice but I have to admit I'm a Bucks county boy at heart...

46yrs old male in UK with BAV / Aneurysm - advised today that surgery needs to be within next 2/3 months. Scared

Yeah it makes you think when they tell you that doesn't it? I was told that what the size of my aneurysm I could wait anywhere from 5 to 10 years for surgery. After the surgery my surgeon informed me that there were some very thin areas. So I guess it was good that I didn't wait. Having said...

    10 years!

Yeah that is a nice area. I'm a little East from there, basically in that little point that sticks into Jersey. I don't have one of those jobs where I can work from anywhere, well I guess I could get a job in the same field somewhere else, but I work for a water authority so not an option for...

Aortic root 5.0cm Ascending Aorta 4.75 cm PKD

My root and ascending aortic aneurysm was estimated to be 4.8 cm when they found it back in 2014. I had surgery in February 2015 and it turns out it was actually 4.99 cm. They replaced the root, ascending and hemi arch. You didn't mention your valve but I have a BAV. They vary a lot so my plan...

    10 years!

Congrats. I had my 7-year back on February 7th and surprisingly I actually forgot about it until a couple of weeks later. Also in Pennsylvania I'm in the suburbs of Philly. Cheers

Where at in the Philly region? I'm in Bucks county, basically a couple of minutes from the Delaware River

49 with BAV replacement happening in 4 days (Mar 9 2022)

I had a discussion regarding this with my surgeon, Dr. Bavaria from the hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, it was a bit of a moot point for me as my cause for surgery was my aneurysm and he ended up keeping my BAV as there was no regurgitation or stenosis. I was curious if the different...

49 with BAV replacement happening in 4 days (Mar 9 2022)

Good thing that you're getting the aneurysm taken care of while in there. I told my surgeon to do everything that needed to be done while he had the wheels off. He laughed but I explained to him that this is just another day at work for him but it's a pretty big deal for me and not something I...

46yrs old male in UK with BAV / Aneurysm - advised today that surgery needs to be within next 2/3 months. Scared

My guess is that after you recover you'll probably be better fitness-wise than you are now. Getting around and moving is a key part of recovery, but I wouldn't push the training part harder than you should until you're fully ready. Totally like what I need in my life. You never know if you will...

46yrs old male in UK with BAV / Aneurysm - advised today that surgery needs to be within next 2/3 months. Scared

Sounds very familiar. I was just about to turn 46 when I had my surgery 7 years ago. I also have a BAV and had an aneurysm. I kept my valve but had the aneurysm replaced ( The root, ascending and hemi-arch were replaced) . Seeing that I'm in the United States, I can't give you any advice on...

    Life after OHS

I had my surgery, David V aortic valve repair (BAV) and aneurysm replacement ( root, arch and semi arch) back in February 2015. For the first few months I had plenty of days when I thought life would never be normal again but most days I don't even think about my surgery and when I do it's...

26 year old 3 months after surgery (on-x aortic valve)

Congratulations on the successful surgery and for what it's worth, my opinion. Probably not too much...., I think you made the right decision regarding the valve. If you don't mind me asking you said you moved the Europe. Where did you have your surgery at? I think if I remember correctly, I...
