    My mvr story so far.

"Results of which showed that I had mitral valve regurgitation, possible atrial fibrillation and a small hole in the heart. Then waited for the appointment to see the cardiologist which didn’t materialise for another six months" In 6 months you could of been DEAD. That's totally unacceptable...

Hi! New here. Wanted to introduce myself.

" Ask about the aneurysm, if they have not checked already get a new cardiologist." The reason why I said this is because it will cost me 2 or more years of my LIFE because none the people gave it any thought at all and yes it really is upsetting.

Very sorry to hear of the problems you are having :( I would like to add a few comments. I was told NOTHING about the problems that could happen or what to expect. My point is ASK about anything and everything that could go wrong. Ask about the aneurysm, if they have not checked already get a...

    Irregular Heartbeat

About 5-6 years after my valve replacement (St Jude 2008) I had the problem with my heart rate all over the place. It got so bad that at least a few times a week I would get VERY dizzy and had to sit down or fall. Driving was out, my wife drove from that day on. After the dizziness pasted I...

After your surgery, what are some of the things that you found out that surprised you

My short story about my recovery. Back in 2008 I went in for a physical, they found my sweet little valve problem. The next day I was having an interview with the surgeon, on the way out he said talk to your wife and get back to him in a week at most. On the way out I stopped and turned to...

    Whats the point.....................

I had NO symptoms NO pain, from my view every thing was great and the problem was not found till I went in for a physical. So yes I would think that was critical. I had my valve replaced 6 days later and was more or less told do it now. It was about 7 years later I came down with stage 3...

    Whats the point.....................

I feel for you because I know what your going through, I have been there. I had my valve replaced in 2008, not a long time ago but its still upsetting just thinking about it. I will have to have my aortic aneurysm fixed soon and have great deal of fear of reliving it all over again. If...

I've crossed the line into severe and need to make a decision

My first post here, howdy ALL and nothing but the best for you :) My name is Dave (70 years old) and I had my valve replaced on 9-23-2008 before the relationship of valve and artery was known, so it was never checked. The most pain I have very felt was using that plastic breathing thing. I...
