    lisa in my mind that means there is no golden rule for one or the other, my cardio and surgeon couldn't agree on my valve so what hell chance did I have lol, your right its down to the individual choice which path you go down in most cases, neither is perfect but hey it saves our lives,

    I went tissue as didn't want to be on warfarin and the problems that may occur, I was 51 and my porky is still honking away, whichever you have choosen will save your life so theres no wrong choice, good luck

    theres no wrong choice, I got a tissue over 9 years ago and its still honking away, didn't want to be on warfarin, for everybody who says tissue somebody will say mech, its your choice, don't measure using somebody elses ruler , pick for you,

    hiya and welcome, firstly there is no bad choice, which ever you choose is gonna save your life, theres stats to back whichever way you go and in general its a hard choice, some choose mech others tissue, its whats best for you,As I say don't measure your needs using somebody elses ruler lol...

    I was prescribed heparin for first 3 months after tissue valve, no problem, your correct different cardios prefer different things, good luck

    after my avr 9yrs ago I was found to have lbbb, nobody who ive seen since seems over fussed about it other than the fact I have to tell staff who arnt aware of it when I have a ecg about it, good luck with yours

    welcome aboard. The waiting is the worst bit imo, the actual op isn't that bad, I went for tissue also as didn't want to be on warfarin and the problems that may occur, saying that many do ok on it, good luck and am sure you will do just fine

    hi, if you want more info and insite, adam pick has a valve support group with over 5,000 members am sure I have seen a few on with marfans syndrome, imo the more forums you look at the more rounded your opinion can be, its good you can get advise and help,
