    If you've had mitral repair

Nothing seemed normal until I got six months out. Lots of weird dreams, red flashing fire works in my eyes, an occasional hard heart pounding, fatigue, etc. If you are two weeks from surgery, you can walk and you have no serious issues you are doing great. Good luck on a fast recovery.

Low Platelet Count and Mechanical Valve

Six months after my MV repair I became anemic. After several tests it was decided that something was damaging my red blood cells. The best guess is that the problem was related to my surgery and I was put on a prescription vitamin. Other than coffee colored urine I am fine. I see my hemotologist...

Need MV Surgery ASAP and Can't Get Straight Answers

Hi Dee, When I needed surgery I found a surgeon in Macon, Ga who did a number of MV surgeries each year. He came highly recommended by a friend who is a teaching surgeon at a medical school. When I met with the surgeon he told me I had a 10% chance of a repair. When they did the TEE prior to...

Who wants to see my dilated aorta working in real time?

I am at a loss for words as I really do not understand exactly what I am seeing in the pictures. It is amazing that the body has such complex components such as the heart. I agree with Ross it looks scary. The bulges look like something that needs attention.

Looks like we have a group hug in process. Thats great as I hate to see VR members go ape on each other. By the way I hate the password option. If every heated thread requires a password a good many threads will need passwords.
