    been indoors for 2 weeks now...just going into the garden for a few hours for fresh air doing a little work from home been using my home gym alot...did another 10km this morning aortic valve replacement that was due in the 1st half of this year, is ofcourse now postponed probably until next year

    i'm thinking of not going to work the rest of the week. i dont want to risk catching this in the last few days before this isolation period is scheduled for ( that would be typical of my luck :rolleyes:)

    the UK government seem set to ask the over 70s and people considered vulnerable with underlying health conditions to self isolate for 4 month, in the next few weeks. i'm wondering if some of us would have to do this ?

    seems as though the government is prepared for a "cull" to solve that problem rather than the route china and italy have gone down, which is complete lock down to slow down the spread, save lives in the short term, and buy time for effective anti-virals to be found

    two work colleagues on friday, had cold like symptoms.. and yet still came into work given the UK's policy of deliberately allowing up to 80% of the population to become infected, and theoretically give the country herd immunity (deeply flawed imo), i have no chance of avoiding it v worried...

    i havent spoken to my specialist cardiac nurse for a month i'm gonna phone up this week, as i'm due a CT scan soon my AVR op due sometime in summer, will i think be postponed now i dont want to be going into any hospital for a good while until this virus peaks and peters out very worrying...

    yes i agree, from papers i've read, not replacing the ascending aorta when the valve is replaced would seem unusual but if they're sure the tissue is not diseased and an aortoplasty will be a permanent fix, then that would be the way to go my next meeting is with a specialist aortic...

    well, for the latest CT scan, i'm going to have to wait 4-6 weeks depends how urgent you need these things on the NHS as mentioned before, if i was symptomatic they'd be pushing things along alot faster

    it's the ascending aorta just as it exits the valve. not sure have far it extends tbh.....something i'll have to ask yes, i'm sure, if the surgeons are thinking of this, it's for the best i'm wondering now, if to reduce the size of the affected aorta, they will do a reduction aortoplasty ...

    yes, i had assumed i would be getting the valve and aortic graft , no questions the meeting i had with another of the surgeons, just before xmas had confirmed this and now it seems they may be planning on leaving the aorta alone.....thinking the new valve will stabilise it i was v surprised...

    As I'm not showing any symptoms yet, and am in good health, whilst these further tests are on-going, i'm not priority for surgery If, i were to start getting symptoms that would change immediately
