    Ross Procedure

Yeah without a doubt the ifs buts and maybes are ever present in many medical write ups. Well a mech valve may need to be changed as you well know. I was never overly concerned by the ticking but beyond the meds as stated above, it does tick, which might be a problem? Maybe I'm lucky and...

    Ross Procedure

Quite a long read for anybody interested.. For me, I've 1 pro Ross and 1 Pro Mech surgeon. A tie break consultation followed by a decision very soon I hope. Still a highly irritating decision but as we like to say. better than the valve I have right now, one way or another...

    Self testing issues with NHS

Sadly I think that is correct. So stupid. Luckily LHCH have their eyes open. Patients also have the option to self refer as far as I know. Find a cardiologist at a modern Trust if that's an option? P

    Ross Procedure

Much appreciated.. not the first time you have made the offer either. If that time comes I'd no doubt send some files fore review :) How many apprentices have you got on the books these days ? It's a great thing you're doing.. :) Another opinion lined up later this month, let's go from there. P

    Ross Procedure

I know exactly what you mean and thank you for pointing it out. I'm quite a "robotic" person at times, so I have been told, so will thread carefully. I've good family with some medical background to help me through it also. So let's see, ultimately it'll be A or B by a nose... Hilarious... All...

    Ross Procedure

More than welcome and thank you for taking the time to send such detailed considered responses. In this thread and in Peksters. To be honest if I went mechanical I'd probably follow your method. Over sample in the beginning and then reduce to weekly with confidence. So yourself and Pellicle...

    Ross Procedure

Hi, Following on from the later posts here: my time has come will start a thread dedicated to Ross discussion. Well another one. As mentioned before, both viable options in my opinion but now to choose. Having known I'd need a valve replacement for over ten years the time is certainly close...

    my time has come

Hi Pellicle, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on that paper. I agree with quite a lot of your points, some of them could be discussed but but not going to do that here and hijack the thread. In the interest of conversation I may provide some comments in a thread of my own from...

    my time has come

Hi Pekster, thanks for asking, hope you are keeping well since your surgery, I followed your journey post op. Are you back running now ? I've been lurking again for a while as I find too much time here can increase the stress slightly. I suspect as much despite how disappointing I find that I...

    my time has come

Brilliant.. Look after yourself.. What was the final surgery? Valve, ascending and hemiarch if I remember correctly? no deviations from the plan? Sounds like your stay was text book pretty much. All good..:)

New to site and pre-surgery for BAV

Welcome. Best of luck with your surgery. I found this site about ten years ago and I'm still waiting for surgery. Don't think Ive read it all yet 😁 Its a great site. If I go mechanical Id opt for Onx but would would insist on a standard AC therapy. going slightly high or slightly low at an INR...

    my time has come

Sorry to hear that.. Hope you are doing ok and the valve isnt holding you back too much. I was given an option recently for Nov /Dec but have decided myself to push it 6 months. For several reasons. Hopefully you get a date soon 🤞

    Keyhole AVR

Hi, Had a quick search and didn't see this posted. Keyhole mechanical AVR. Pretty impressive. Fair warning, it's a surgical video😶 Ah that's quite clear in the preview😉 P

Extreme Anxiety, Minimally Invasive, Ross Procedure, and Life Expectancy

Hi there, If your condition is mild , youre feeling well and the cardiologist is indicating surgery a good distance down the road, I wouldn't worry so much. You will go through phases obsessing about it but for the most part live your life while you feel good. Easier said than done at times but...

    Decision time.

That's a great picture. I shall spread that one around:) Very sorry to hear about your wife. I can't imagine how you dealt with that. A crap shoot it certainly is. Perspective comes around every now and again. We/I should try to hold onto it. I foresee and few more annoying weeks, followed by...
