    Remote INR taking over Coaguchek

I thought I posted an update to this but it appears to be gone? Or reported (if so I assume by someone who works at Biotel Heart who doesn't like their company looking as bad as they are). Or I am losing my mind. If my post was "reported" I would like to know why though.. This is ridiculous...

    Metprolol tartrate side effects

That reminds me, I am on a PPI (prevacid). Been so for years (way longer than anyone should be on these things but have no choice supposedly because of horrendously bad acid reflux disease due to a floating hiatal hernia causing a weak lower esophogeal sphincter (LES)). One of the known side...

    Metprolol tartrate side effects

I had no idea it could be causing nightmares until I stumbled upon multiple folks complaining of that side effect. One of them was (IIRC) posted by the wife of someone on it who said something like her husband was forced to sleep in a different bedroom because he would be thrashing...

    Metprolol tartrate side effects

Also, in case others on metoprolol might be experiencing this but not realize this drug is the cause, note that it can cause extremely vivid and horrible nightmares. I had the worst 2 nightmares of my life on this drug, the 2nd & 3rd nights I was on it. They were of the "waking dream" variety...

    Remote INR taking over Coaguchek

????? I did NOT post the article you refer to. It was posted by Pellicle. I merely commented that I had not read it and then discussed how my BP had gone up after I got on nightshift. Please give me one of your angry faces as penance! :)

    Remote INR taking over Coaguchek

Well this is fun (not). For the first time ever I was finally sent 2 bills from "Biotel Heart". Both for dates of service in 2022 which BC/BS denied because of "wrong procedure codes". So instead now they are billing me DIRECT without actual insurance contract negotiated rates. Their...

    Lovenox tips and tricks?

I had massive bruising trying to bridge. Was absolute torture. Not enough fat I guess. Entire abdomen became blood red/black/purple. Was so shocking looking that even the cardio crew remarked about it during my stent procedure. Not wanting to go through it again...

    Metprolol tartrate side effects

I've reported on my experience with metoprolol in some other threads. I simply can't tolerate it. Last time I was on it was after I had a catheterization to put some stents put in. The plan was to have this done on that Monday of which I took the day off work, then rest/recover Tues/Wed since...

Why its probably hard to stay in range for some...

Thanks Pellicle. Last 2 years of 12 hour nightshifts has been hell, don't even know how I did it. Made 100X worse trying to get any medical tests or Dr appts while I am even awake. Just try to imagine if all Dr office/labs/etc were only open about 9pm to 7am. And try to figure out how to...

Why its probably hard to stay in range for some...

I would not be able to manage without my daily pillbox. Just too ez to 4get things without it, then later wondering if took something or not. But that doesn't always mean I remember... 2 years ago I had to transition from normal life where I took my warfarin after coming home from work (or...

    Tell me your rxperiences

Like you I had a very difficult time sleeping. The #1 thing I needed was sleep but it was near impossible. Lying down was so horribly painful I could not sleep. The hospital bed was fine but a real bed - forget it. I knew about the recliner recommendation but don't own one. One of my...

Onyx aortic valve with 1.5-2.0 INR target

In my experience of dealing with Dr's for over 50 years I can honestly say that NONE of them - whether ones I considered to be "good" vs ones who are "bad" - have ever been up on ANYTHING in what I consider to be the essential details of whatever guidelines it might be that they are following...

Onyx aortic valve with 1.5-2.0 INR target

Without going into a very long story with INR twists & turns that I've gone through already detailed in another thread or two, will say that after On-x mailed me the letter to announce that they had USA-FDA approval for 1.5 to 2.0 effective INR range (at the time I was still using 2.0-2.5...

    Remote INR taking over Coaguchek

Well I KNEW this was going to happen due to some past experience with a crazy hospital bill which not submitted by the hospital for over a year, then adjusted downwards by BC/BS several hundred $ less, then a year after that resubmitted by the hospital to BC/BS yet again at the original amount...

I can't even GIVE my meters away

Seen what? (I haven't been up here in about a month too many life things getting in the way and am so tired/depressed most days off I just stay in bed...) EDIT: OK sorry I guess you meant seen this thread. Duh. I came in here only via the Alert thing that said you "mentioned me". I'll go...

Very generous of you. I will contact you via a PM. I'll pay for the meter though (& the shipping).

    Remote INR taking over Coaguchek

I didn't read the article but will add that thanks to nightshfit I now have high blood pressure. Only getting 3-4 hours of continuous sleep a day for 2 years is probably a large component, adding that on days off I sleep/nap almost all the time because am so tired and now I have no "real" sleep...

    Remote INR taking over Coaguchek

Another update. Just got another EOB from BC/BS. 3 charges of the usual $880.00 each all from periods of 2022. All 3 denied by BC/BS. 1 denied for "we already have this charge" (one they already denied) and the other 2 both denied for using "procedure code that is not on the fee schedule"...

400 person study on lower INR (1.5-2.5) with mechanical valve

Not been my experience in regards to some issues I alluded to but good to know that some at the FDA actually do their jobs as they should.

400 person study on lower INR (1.5-2.5) with mechanical valve

Wise man. I agree with everything you said above. I used to work in the pharma industry. For about 5 years I was a programmer involved with creating the reports that were used for FDA submissions, mostly phase II clinical trials. Adverse effects was always our biggest shall we say...
