Returning to exercise after valve surgery

Be careful posting that your surgeon told you the Inspiris Resilia should last 20 years, several posters will take offense to this... they may tell you you misunderstood... the surgeon doesn't know what they are talking about... or you are simply lying. And don't forget that these posters...

    Edwards Resilia Inspiris Aortic Valve

Dano64, I read your past posts and I'm glad to see you're doing so well. It should get even better with time and soon you'll have many, many days you don't even think about your valve at all. Those are the good days. So heal up, move on from the surgery and let me know if you have any other...

Severe Aortic Regurgitation Leading to Second Surgery

I had mine at 54 and was eating out within a week, taking easy walks in the mountains within 3 weeks and we took two beach vacations a week long each time within 3 months. I was not 100% for probably 6 months but easily well enough to enjoy the vacations after a month or so.

    Newbie ascending aorta aneurysm

deancass2000, you're spot on. Pellicle is a head case and does need to have his ego stroked or he goes off. I've been following this forum for 4-5 years now and I have seen this play out over and over and over again. His 9,744 posts say all that needs to be said here. It's unfortunate, too...

    Edwards Resilia Inspiris Aortic Valve

4 Year update/valve anniversary on my Inspiris Resilia valve... Everything is still looking very good. No issues whatsoever with the valve, no afib, completely silent, energy levels great, no restrictions whatsoever. Annual ultrasound shows no changes from a year ago. I have nothing but good...

    Bleeding issue

You deflected my message from my first post (which was that people will be better off listening to medical advice from their doctors than from people here on this forum who believe that they are qualified to give medical advice) into a "whatabout you" argument about me. Whether or not you...

    Bleeding issue

While I'm sure he is no match for your expertise, this is who I received this information from: Vaughn A. Starnes, MD, is Distinguished Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery, H. Russell Smith Foundation Chair and Executive Director of the CardioVascular Thoracic Institute at the...

Pls if anyone has their valve replaced with the inspiris resilia comment.

I had my IR tissue valve surgery in April 2018 at age 54 and it's still going strong with absolutely no issues whatsoever (other than an afib episode a month or two after surgery). It's been nice not having to worry about my heart every day and being able to do things without restrictions...

    Newbie here

The reason is that he has "issues" and isn't at all "in real life" what he pretends to be here. I've read your posts over the last few years, this isn't news to you.

    Bleeding issue

Great advice Dave! People will definitely have better outcomes if they listen to their medical professionals instead of random internet posters, especially posters on this forum who believe the are "equals" to medical professionals. To new readers: This is a great forum but there is a group...

    Pig heart transplant

It is amazing and astounding what is just over the horizon. In the 1990's I worked in Private Equity/Venture Capital and I saw so many absolutely brilliant scientists and doctors working on so many literally mind blowing projects and startups. Some panning out, others not, but I can't even...

    Tissue Valve

You taking your own advice would make this site much nicer. I only responded to this tread because you, as you always seem to do when anyone is happy with their tissue valve for any reason, attacked Hevishot for simply posting a humorous reply saying his valve has lasted longer than his...

    It makes a clicking sound

Hello Azatadine, I've had a tissue valve going on 4 years in April and I also experienced the "thumping" immediately after the surgery, especially when I sat the wrong way in a chair or laid on my back or left side in bed. It was enough to keep me up at night (insomnia is the worst), too, but...

    Tissue Valve

Here's the part I like... And I know I should not ask this... but... Pellicle, when your medical specialists or your cardiologists are presented with an unusual or especially difficult case, do they have your number on their speed dial to consult with you or do they just automatically send a...

    Tissue Valve

It is the very definition of a straw man argument. A straw man argument deflects away from the actual argument which you know you can't defend and sets up another false argument, the "straw man", that you can. In this case, you deflected my actual argument that you are not an expert, you do not...

    Tissue Valve

I never said not to get a second opinion, that's a straw man argument. What I said is that people making serious, life altering medical decisions would be better off getting their medical advice from top notch, qualified medical professionals than from a computer IT guy on an Internet forum...

    Tissue Valve

No doubt, everyone should ask questions and do their due diligence but at the some point everyone must also decide who to trust and take advice from. And, yes, you do get some bad apples in every organization but I don't believe that world class heart centers like Cleveland Clinic, etc. tolerate...

    Tissue Valve

Pellicle: "Of course being unable to consider how it is for others you take only yourself as the only example. But then you don't understand stats do you." With all due respect, this is exactly what you and your handful of mechanical valve oriented posters routinely do when you/they tell people...

    Aortic Valve Choices

Well it looks like this article has stirred up quite a few people. This was not my intention but it was no doubt my result. First, I want to say I have vey much enjoyed this forum, the people posting their experiences are great and the information shared is valuable. That said, I'd like to...
