As always, adore your perspective, @TheGymGuy! Great ideas for re-framing goals and pursuing different metrics of progress. It's all ways of going forward, just different paths for different moments.

    Lifting weights

Obviously, check with your care team about your personal circumstance, please. I did talk to my cardiologist after surgery about running, and he put no restrictions on it. I was surprised, but he was enthusiastic about me running a marathon and some other distance events. As I mentioned...

    Ross Procedure

Yeah, that was my situation pre-surgery. I recently watched a video of a grand rounds presentation by Dr. El-Hamamsy and found it really interesting and helpful

    13 years today!

Hard to believe, but 13 years ago today I was in the hospital right now prepping for surgery. I'm grateful for all the time since and to be just living life with only a daily pill and some annual check-ups. Also, grateful for all of you and the support on here back then and continuing today.

    Decision time.

Differing definition of fun, I'll contend 😂 As others have mentioned, the time before surgery is the hardest in some ways. Fortunately, as you'll often see discussed on here, the best bit is that we have multiple options--and they all work! It's amazing we can be here and discuss (thank you...

    Lifting weights

I've been following a bit the story of this American football player recently diagnosed with a valvular issue (don't know details) and how his treatment is progressing, apparently including a return to play as he expects to be cleared for unrestricted physical activity: Vikings' Smith 'in good...

    Dental work and prophylaxis question

Sorry about the stress over all this. Glad things are arriving at a reasonable place. It's taxing sometimes, isn't it, the things we get hung up on post-surgery? I've had this experience, too, for what it's worth.

1 Day After And Doing Ok

Well done, @Foxtail118! Great news on the progress already. Recovery is definitely humbling, as @Superman points out, but it's messy for everyone in different ways. Thanks for the updates. Tomorrow will be even better than today.
