Anyone experience occasional palpitations or premature ventricular contractions?

At one point, I had convinced myself my episodes were related to dehydration. Not too sure about that now. I also may have imagined that I can cause a PVC with irregular breathing on purpose. Also just a weird indication with no real confirmation. I am quite sure that when I'm doing heavy...

Anyone experience occasional palpitations or premature ventricular contractions?

I've had some PVCs off and on for the past years, and also have had hours/days of Afib. Even had an ER visit because I was worried it was something more. .... But after going on 25mg ER Metoprolol Succ (daily) for the past 2 years, the Afib and PVCs are under control finally.

    Erratic heartbeat after surgery

Wow - great news. I was reading through this string to just relate my experience ,where I had the *pleasure* of the TEE, then was being wheeled to get a cardioversion, and my Afib suddenly stopped. Interesting that he had the same experience. TEE as a treatment? LOL .... No thanks ! I was...

    Time for mitral valve replacement

Going on 7 years with my pacemaker <similar scenario : AV replacement->Heart Block>. Not a big deal. Extremely robust hardware and a good backup 'just in case'. Still have another 8 years on the battery, amazingly.

On- X valve is superior to outdated one like st jude and ATS

Found elsewhere :"... This INR increase was observed, on average, 6.7 ± 3.3 days after corticosteroid initiation, representing the time in which a significant INR change may be observed.... ". So the 6.7 refers to mean # of days which a significant INR effect may be present. Still, the...

Hard pounding in the chest after mechanical AVR

9mmHg is my Ao mean PG. EF is on the low side at 58%, and my Ao diameter is on the high side at 3.7cm. At least all this has been stable for 7 years now.

That's a better way to say it

Hard pounding in the chest after mechanical AVR

I think I had some of that with my On-X aortic valve installation. The mechanical engineer in me thinks some of the effect could be due to the fact that we both now have e a working valve which flows well and opens/shut correctly. Higher flow, so the heart is volumetrically flowing more and...

How Long to Maintain Metoprolol After Surgery?

Due to occasionally recurring AFIB (weeks long events that were not pleasant) after my OHS in 2017 (caused by stress in the heart from the OnX valve install and surgery), I'm now continuously on 25mg/day of metoprolol. So after 7 years, this may be my new normal. I'm not aware of any downside...

    27 M aortic valve replacement

If you go full OHS with mechanical valve, 27 seems like a good age! I did it at 43 in good athletic shape and recovered pretty well. Finding an expert surgeon and a world-class heart center will help alleviate the concern. Once I did that, my anxiety really decreased.

    Heart Rate Variation

Closing this out with a summary of TEE findings , followed by : my thoughts/questions -Septal dyssynchrony : Meaning left to right ventricle not correctly phased in time ... I suppose this could be improved with a 2nd V lead -R Ventricle mildly dilated : The pacemaker lead for pacing the V is...

AVR need to do my 1st Colonoscopy, freaking out.

My primary care Dr presented me data from studies that concluded if someone does annual poop tests, then the ability to detect colon cancer is just as good as colonoscopy. So I'm doing this plan ! I could try to dig out the studies if you want.

    Fun evening interrupted

Seems we're in a similar boat at the moment. After a year of no Afib, I had a few weeks of high HR, low HR, skipped beat... No change in treatment... just went back to 'normal' after a few weeks. Have some travel to Euro zone and India/Thailand coming up. Fingers crossed for us both.

    Heart Rate Variation

Hi, nothing changed regarding diet or meds. Been eating a little cleaner , so was wondering if sodium was low, but that was ruled out. Update 1: After 2-3 weeks of irregular pacing, I have had the last 3 days with no noticeable issues. So, local Cardiologist advises to stay the course for a...

New BAV dx and super scared :(

Also bifurcated AV with mild regurg also for me when I was 40. ... Sharing some 'random' thoughts that hopefully you will find useful or help in a different perspective: It's great your GP heard the murmur --- I bet this was missed during many previous visits to the Dr ! Now you are under...
