Anyone getting ready to partake in any sporting events anytime soon?

Alright team, it's been a little while since anyone posted about their training for running, biking and other events. The spring is in full bloom and there are lots of events coming up in your areas to compete in. Who is doing what and when? Just to lead by example, I will do a powerlifting...

Cardiac rehab and an answer to my ankle problem

Exactly what gerry said. I seriously injured one of the tendons in my ankle 4 years back and proprioception training was a huge thing during my rehab to get all the mobility and proper function back. I recall lots of stabilizing exercises which were border line torturous.

    Fighting Cardiac Depression

Anthony, awesome blog post! I find that physical activities make people happier too. Doing stuff, anything really, is a good thing to do. Love that list of things to do that you have on there. I was never patient enough for Bonzai, but how I wish that I spent time on it. While it was...

    Slower Heart Rate after OHS

Anthony, My resting heartrate was in the mid-50s before surgery and in the at least high 70-80s after. With metprolol it was closer to 70, as my dose was reduced the HR was slowly going up, however, I was walking lots daily and giving that ticker lots to tick about. Still, with all the drugs...

Lack of sleep and your heart beat?

Same here. Lack of sleep and my HR is higher when I wake up. In addition, my body temp is higher in the AM on days when I did not get enough sleep. This is quite normal.

UNREAL!!!!!!!!! 5-10 years is a hell-of-a-lot time to enjoy without having to do this. You might choose to get in better shape if not there already, clean up your diet and just live well and healthy so that whenever this surgery does happen you walk into it strong and walk out strong.

2 years since my heart was bionically enhanced

Could not come up with a better title. ;) What's there to say, 2 years and 1 day ago I was doing my taxes and putting finishing touches on some random emails and not sleeping while waiting for the morning of my surgery. I still remember the night before. The messages from many board members...

Major stressin here - Valve replacement in 10 Days!

Hey RandomDude, Waiting is really tough. I know where you are coming from, though. I never showed it, never admit it - so there ;)...

    A setback: redo

Hey, I am sending you said bracket for your bike shortly. I am also including training wheels so that you can stay safe and not pedal too fast (otherwise you will be considered reckless). That half-marathon or was it 10k you wanted to do is still a possibility, albeit a little later in the...

    ON-X Valve?

You are going to get lots of On-X valve recepients respond here. There was a good post here somewhere by Bill W which talked about a study between ATS and On-X and hemodynamically they were basically same or very similar. I, too, have On-x and mainly cause their Marketing Machine won me over -...

Valve Choice for 33 Year Old: Mechanical VS HomoGraft vs Ross?

Just read this forum, there is so much great data here. I am also a mech. valve receiver, and still, currently, a powerlifter, snowboarder, and a meathead. I eat clean, so there are greens in my diet, I occasionally have 1-3 drinks (new for me, but you got to live, right?) and I self test my...
