    Lifting weights

From one meathead to another, do find other hobbies for the the time being. PL was my life, but there is certainly more to it than that. Yes, If I could not DL anymore, I would rather be dead. This was my way of thinking too, but until my surgery was done and everything was fixed I had to...

    Lifting weights

Howdy there. I haven't posted much here due to life busyness, but I'm a competitive powerlifter and dabble in some crossfit now. There are many opinions on the subject. I'm not a doctor but did run my condition and plans via my cardiologist and my surgeon..... Anyways, I train as a...

Anyone order Warfarin from India/Canada/other countries without prescription?

Closing this thread with an update and a thought. First and foremost, thanks for suggestions, I passed them on and they were appreciated. Now, with prescription, COSTCO was the cheapest by far: 1. without health insurance card presented it was $16 for 180 day supply...

Anyone order Warfarin from India/Canada/other countries without prescription?

Asking for a friend. Their health insurance changed and it would seem cheaper to just order from online pharmacy versus via health insurance. Anyone have experience or suggestions for places to order from? Thank you. PS The Coagucheck sticks are cheaper via ebay than they are from insurance.

    Ebay and Coaguchek PT Strips

Same here. Been buying strips on eBay since 2012 ever since I found out that it’s cheaper than my co-pay on insurance. I cross check my INR with a lab and do a coaguchek xs test shortly before the blood draw. So far with all of the years of testing I come within .1 of lab result. :) My...

    9 weeks picture (shirt-free)

We gotta get ya some creative ink around that scar. I’m thinking grizzly bear face looking to the side with a sword scar on his face and a broken sword below where drainage tubes used to be. That would look awesome and cover up scars creatively. ;)

    9 weeks picture (shirt-free)

7 years post OHS picture. This picture is after a diet and CrossFit cycle. Other than beard and temporary lack of chest hair, the scar is pretty faint and only visible with bright gym lights. Otherwise, it’s pretty fair. Can’t clearly see it from 10ft away and definitely can’t see it when...

    OrangeTheory?

I’m dabbling in CrossFit and several folks I know with OHS procedures do it as well. Just some data for ya. Orange Theory looks fun. Talk to your cardiologist and give it a whirl. Always start slow and pace yourself.

    Powerlifting

Hello folks, I forget to check here as often as I should. Miss you all immensely. @Joe Rodgers, I am a competitive powerlifter (82.5kg bw 463/297/545 last year), and and dabble in some crossfit now. I am also getting into more Oly lifts. This being said, all results and experiences...

    warfarin dosage levels

VivekD, as my exercise varies I find that my INR varies a little bit too. Diet seems to have little effect, body weight does, and activity does for me. Even when my INR varies it is within 1.8-3.5 INR (and this is over a 4 year sample size of weekly testing and constant coumadin intake). The...

    4 years today

The day has come and gone, and I almost forgot that 4 years ago today I had received a new aortic heart valve. Funny thing is that if I was not reminded earlier this week by my family I would not have remembered. Nothing to report, things are going well, INR is stable around 2.3, heart is...

What time of day to take Warfarin

Morning or night have been the best for me. If I travel overseas and time difference is 12 hours and I have to shift by 12, I shift over 3 days at 3-4 hours per day. Generally, I take my Warfarin nightly between 9pm and 12am. Daily shifts have not had any affect on my INR. I have verified...

Surgery date set for my 2nd OHS, going mechanical this time

Hey cewilk, This sucks a little about Ross not taking, but thats the hand we are dealt sometimes. Man, it did allow you to be deployed and train hard, etc., so its a big plus. From what I recall, ATS, St Jude, and On-x are all byleaflet with very similar properties. My surgeon wanted to use...
